An entire new Pixies album is done. One with Kim's overdubs, which we'll never hear now, one without.

A lot of people liked that joke there, wow. Great job, internet. I don't recall her ever saying anything about "living in the past" re: Pixies, but who could blame her if she'd rather live in her own past than be a supporting player in Charles Thompson's shitty present?

You're not implying that the Breeders, 20 years later, are still too drunk to finish any of their songs, are you?

Kelley's actually been sober for far longer than Kim has; hasn't had a drink since the mid-90s, so I'm not sure I agree with your detective work there, Arundel. At least on the substance abuse end. If you see this current tour, she's fuckin' shredding, dude. Her guitar playing is pretty bad-ass. I can't do that

"Divine Hammer" is not about dick, it's about Kim's search for the divine (god, etc.) and how she keeps finding nothing—she's an atheist. I've read and heard a handful of interviews where she talks about it no uncertain terms. She also says it's poking fun at religious folk songs. Listen again with this in mind.

Donnelly's guitar line in the wordless middle of "Iris" is just pure fucking evil.

Hang on a second: plenty of people don't think this record is underwritten or loaded with filler. And fuck that chick who wrote the AllMusic review. Case in point: "No Aloha" is a classic, it's probably second only to "Cannonball" if you gauge audience reaction at their live shows. But supposedly it's underwritten and

Do not listen to these men.

The bass on "Divine Hammer" is definitely very full and not mixed low, it just seems like the entire song was mastered at a lower level than the rest of the album. "No Aloha," by contrast, is really loud. There was a 'single' version of "Divine Hammer", which is included in this set, and it's an entirely different

Last Splash is so much more than "Cannonball," and what sane person actually *hates* the Breeders? You'd have to be a sick, sad fuck to have something against Kim Deal.

No bye, no aloha, and no one here has heard this album in its entirety, evidently.

Who told you there wouldn't be a vinyl? This is Kim "All Analog" Deal we're talking about. By the way, the Plain Recordings reissue is seriously barebones and doesn't sound as good as other records in my collection. I trust 4AD's pressing will sound better. (Btw, you can also get Pod and the Amps' Pacer on 180g from

Oh yeah? How do you figure?

Right? Each song is so richly satisfying. "Flipside" and "S.O.S" are not filler. They're fuckin' killer. Just because they don't have words doesn't mean they're not real songs. (And Safari is not the last great thing they ever did. That's bonkers. You can find it on eBay anyway—CD and vinyl—if that's all you're

They will definitely play LA, don't worry.

Yeah, it's so weird when people think good looking chicks are hot… I think you just needed better friends back then.

It's Kim's harmonica microphone through a distortion pedal, feeding back from a Marshall amp.

More like re-takes. There ain't no "studio trickery" in Breeders world. They've gotten a lot better since Kim stopped partying and Kelley started becoming more musical. I saw them 5 or 6 times when they toured 2008-2010, and apart from a few unplugged guitars and cables that crapped out, they were tight as fuck.

Didn't include a vinyl? It doesn't come out 'til April, brah. No details about the reissue have been made public, apart from release date. Who told you this, anyway? Kim has never not put a thing out on vinyl.
