TV as a right-now entertainment has very little draw for me. I only put up with it for a couple of shows, and they're all on HBO. Paying $10/month plus my internet access for commercial-free content is now the bare minimum I will accept from a streaming provider. Hulu is well under the bar, and apparently always will

Consider the smart phone: composed of rare earth metals, constructed through exploitative labor, transported to America at great environmental cost, and sold to consumers as luxury leisure products (the ads always show people watching movies in bars).

That's just like, your opinion, man.

Obi-wan Kenobi, as played by Alec Guiness. That "Please kill me so I can help Luke save the galaxy; and also go fuck yourself" look he has on his face right before his death is my favorite thing in the entire franchise history.

I've been listening to the radio during the commute for the last week. There's a local station that actually plays music from 9 to 9:30, so it's not as bad as normal radio. I actually heard "Party All the Time" by Eddie Murphy on Monday, which I have never ever ever ever heard on the radio before.

If you watch with the closed captioning on, you see that he also refers to himself as "Nas". Little boost for the Googles.

I strenuously object. Although I'll be the first to admit that it's the first record of theirs I heard, and that I have a lot of personal memories about the person who shared it with me, which might introduce a strong bias. But "Slow Song" is one of my top 50 songs of All Time, and I love that it sounds like it was

Second best album.

That bright orange cover makes it easy to find in the dark.

Agreed. All the problems of cable, but none of the consistent signal strength.

First class username/comment synergy here.

Pretty amazing that they managed to make that story compelling at all. Watching guys write newspaper articles shouldn't be that tense or exciting.

Wasn't that a Robert Ludlum novel?

You didn't miss much. And actually there are 2 buildings in downtown New Orleans that are higher. It's the third lowest high point of the 50 states.

The Wikipedia entry intimated that Goldman thought the movie became worthless after Douglas attached himself to playing a role.
