Much as I enjoy Morrison's work (and yes, that includes FC), I have to agree with you that he can definitely wind up with too many plates spinning/his eye off the ball. None of this stuff is a deal-breaker for me, but yeah, he should probably be called out on it.

Hmm, the Romney thing was relevant though, because Romney was an up and comer at the time (he'd be the front runner for the Republican nomination President in 1968!) and someone New York's mayor might conceivably want to throw his lot in with.
