It's been probably six or seven years since I've seen this episode and I still remember Billingsley in it. He's an actor that elevates anything.

The scene where the younger Dale holds Exley after he dies and it fades to the older Dale holding his arms out as if he's still holding him is another one of those "it works great even though it shouldn't" moments. Great episode.

I watched Blue Velvet with my mom. I'd seen it before, too, but I forgot how extreme it got. Once Kyle MacLachlan started smacking Isabella Rosselini I knew a mistake had been made. To say that my mother was horrified is an understatement.

Yeah, I'll have to wait for DVD unless I surprisingly do have Cinemax. I think the only pay channel I have is HBO, though.

I don't think I have cinemax or I'd check this out. I like spy stories and I really enjoyed Melissa George in In Treatment (hate the character, though, but I was supposed to).

I noticed that, too. I was saying, "Wait, are they baiting me by suggesting I might see Scarlett's breasts? And is it working?!"

Thanks for covering this, Todd. I really enjoyed your thoughts on it. Looking forward to the interview (put it up now, damn it!).

Jimmy killing the Commodore makes perfect story sense so I have to think that they always planned that.

Capone singing to his kid was the most moving moment this show has ever provided. I don't mean that as a criticism of the show in general, I love it, but that moment hit home in a way no other has.

I'm glad The Cleveland Show is back just so that a check keeps getting thrown David Lynch's way every few episodes.

I'm a huge Obama fan but I have to give it to Seth Meyers, who is usually awful, for the line, "As for the debate, you have to give it to Mitt Romney; Barack Obama sure did." That had the bite that Simms was looking for.
