I foolishly clicked on one titled '20 Celebs You Had No Idea Were British' the other day and one of them was Tom Hiddlestone. Who knew?!

This impassioned rant is much more entertaining and cogent than the article above. Bravo!
Remember when he was on 'Top of the Pops' and he had a paintbrush and can on the piano because his wife ran off with a painter / decorator? What a twat!
The 'Thor' films have been a bit underwhelming but both have featured really funny moments: the running over Thor with a truck recurring gag in the first and the scene on the Tube in the second.
I watched a repeat of the 'Kitten Kong' episode of comedy show 'The Goodies' which was shown as part of the BBC2 50yr anniversary season. I feared it would have dated badly but it was funnier than I'd remembered: some inspired silliness and fantastic music with great country & 'Shaft'-style parody tunes.

Licky_Kickette tells me they're going to be on Celebrity Big Brother. Imagine if they keep them away from the drink!
I sat in the garden to listen to them - we live about twenty minutes walk from the park - and was able to hear pretty well. They sounded great.
Friday we went to Finsbury Park to listen to the Arctic Monkeys' gig. We didn't have tickets but stood on top of a playground climbing frame so could see the screens at least. It was okay but a bit samey.
Saturday was the theatre, 'Bakersfield Mist' with Kathleen Turner and Ian McDiarmid. Play was okay but cast were…
Went to see Janelle Monae at Brixton Academy on Friday. Eurovision on Saturday.
Yeah, I've seen it and it's great. It's already out in the UK if you want to peruse the reviews.
On Saturday I went to the Record Store Day event in Berwick Street (featured on the cover of 'What's the Story…' music fans) where I saw Adam Ant doing some of his Cooler Early Stuff and a selection of rock and roll covers. Spotted Martin Freeman there who looked like a little Lego Mod.
Yesterday I watched some of the…
I agree with all of this. Plus the songs are great and there is only a tiny amount of CGI deployed, just for an amusing fight sequence at the begining.
I hate that thing in soapy dramas when one character says something very bitchy and unpleasant to the other, and the character on the receiving end just stands there being glared at until the scene cuts away, rather than walking away or just telling them to fuck off.
Just wanted to join the chorus of approval below the line. This film is great and I'm baffled by a review that seems to be complaining that it's not schmaltzy enough.
I went to Barry Humphries farewell show, 'Eat, Pray and Laugh' at London Palladium - first half a bit weak except for Sandy Stone, but Dame Edna didn't dissapoint in second.
Watched first episode of new Swedish series 'Don't Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves' about aids epidemic hitting Stockholm in early 80s - very…
Lorde 'Buzzcut Season', Disclosure ' Help Me Lose My Mind', M.I.A 'Exodus', Robin Thicke 'Blurred Lines', Prefab Sprout 'Best Jewel Thief in the World', Pet Shop Boys 'Thursday', Daft Punk 'Get Lucky', Alunageorge 'Attracting Flies', Icona Pop 'I Love It'.
I went to see Disclosure at Brixton Academy. Rinsin' as we used to say BITD, and most of the guest singers turned up, including Jessie Ware.
Someone bought me David Byrne's 'How Music Works' for my birthday', which was yesterday, which I haven't started yet but I have enjoyed looking at cover.
Doesn't 'I Feel For You' count as a cover as Prince had recorded it years earlier himself?
Theme tune is ace too.
Completely agree. I thought 'Summer Heights High' was a modern comedy classic. Lilley's shows didn't get a massive audience in the UK but most people who saw them loved them. That said 'Angry Boys' was disappointing.
Some bright spark at our school film club booked this piss-poor film by English comedian Dick Emery called 'Ooh! You are awful' (the title was a catchphrase of the ‘comedy gay’ character he used to do). At one point Emery's character is on a ladder trying to photograph this 'bird's' arse tattoo. Cue big close-up of…
