I thought it was great up to an including the aircraft rescue; after that zzzz.

Has anyone seen David Thewlis and David Yow in the same room? They've even got the same name!!
Good response. Have a like.
I prefer his later stuff, but didn't mind the idea of him going back to his anarchic roots. To me, this just felt completely lacking in vitality.
I'm a massive fan. I think he's one of the all-time greats, but I found this crushingly dissapointing and didn't laugh at all.
There is a rival college mentioned. It's called Scare High or something.
'Italian for Beginners' is very jolly and features a nice cameo from a teddy bear with a mohawk as the 'pudding prize'.
The sound is shit in this as well. You can't understand what anyone is saying about 30% of the time.
Absolutely agree, this is one of the best films of the year. I mentioned this already, but I was lucky enought to meet Asbaek when he was in the UK promoting this and he's an absolutely top bloke.
It wouldn't have been Jim Carey so that narrows it down.
Some of my brother's rowdy mates saw Wisdom at an airport and shouted to him 'Oi Norman, do Mr Grimsdale!' Wisdom immediately olbliged with a gurn and silly walk, which is simultaneously depressing and brilliant.
He does appear in one American movie, 'The Night They Raided Minsky's', as a vaudeville performer.
Agreed, but remember when they released 'The One' and it was good and catchy and everyone felt weird?
*SORT-OF BEFORE MIDNIGHT SPOILER*
I've been crowing about about 'Before Midnight' to my movie-going friends for ages (it's out in the UK on Friday), but frustratingly few of them have seen the previous two. The opening, when Jesse comes out of the airport and an instrumental version of Celine's song from 'Before…
Inspired by the foreign language TV thing on here, I finally started watching 'The Kingdom' which is as bizarre as I'd heard. Loved von Trier's Rod Serling-style cheeky sign-offs at the end - 'You might think that it was boring and depressing; well, look at your own lives.' (I'm paraphrasing). Also loving French…
Funfact: there are seven students called Serena Williams at the college where Licky_kickette teaches
I was distracted by Perry's earring.
There was a scene filmed where the powerless Kryptonian are taken away on a snowplough/van thing. I think it might even be in the Donner cut.
Why does Jor-El give him the DNA? I thought he thought that the whole Krypton thing was a busted flush.
Also I thought the plot was very redolent of Dr Who 'End of Time' episode, with the extinct civilisation using Earth to make a comeback and extinguishing all human life in the process.
He does his best but the script is really shitty.
My older sister whose record collection included Roxy Music and David Bowie, and my dad, unwittingly, who would watch subtitled films, when they used to show them on BBC2, in the hope that there'd be dirty bits, giving me a grounding in Fellini and Bergman in the process.
Also Bowie, and to a lesser extent The Smiths;…
