It really was terrible. And after all the pre-release backlash, I went in prepared to really like it, if only in protest against those who judged it for idiotic reasons before seeing it. New Clear Days is a five-star record. Magnets is barely listenable, imho.
I have a CD with both records and the drop in quality after "Jimmie Jones" — the first and only good track on the 2nd LP — is incredibly harsh.

Yep. I live with a dude who vapes pretty constantly when he's at home.
