There's a vast difference between "this vehicle killed me before reaching its destination" and "I was hoping for a resolution to an ongoing cartoon sitcom plot but didn't get one when I expected it."

So you disliked the episode because of a single detail - that it was a "season closer" and didn't fit your expectations or desires of what that should mean. That's on you, not the episode, which was fantastic, imho.
In a tangential bit of hilarity, I read a history of the space program once which described the sorry state of the Nazi rocket program as WWII was drawing to a close. There was a quote in there from Wernher von Braun to the effect that the only safe place to stand on the test course was directly in front of the target.
As noted elsewhere, my folks turned me on to Lehrer before I was even in my teens, so even as a child I remember thinking Russell's songs were lame. That said, as I grew older, while I still and always thought Russell's songs were lame and obvious (and like anyone who isn't Dr. Seuss, he lacked Lehrer's genius with a…
"Relations sparing no expense'll
Send some useless old utensil
Or a matching pen and pencil . . ."
Turning me on to Tom Lehrer was probably the best thing my parents ever did for me (after housing, feeding, clothing, and educating me, anyway.) I was not even 10 yet when my parents heard me laughing hysterically to some Allan Sherman record. "If you think this guy's funny . . . " and out came "Poisoning Pigeons In…
Added a verse to "The Elements"? That seems like a lot of unnecessary work:
Hey, don't caucus — we'll caucyou.
I've seen a lot of movies lately and hence, a lot of trailers. The trailer for this movie was, hands down, the least appealing of the bunch. I was actually a little shocked at how bad this movie looked. I know better than to judge films by their trailers — after all, the Deadpool trailer was awful and I quite enjoyed…
They could've done even better, to be sure, but you do get lots of Benedict Wong. And y'know, I said "some kind of progress" not "we're done here."
Gravity was a movie I really wanted to see in the theater because I assumed it would look spectacular on a big screen. And it did. I never need to see it again cuz yeah, dopey script, and Bullock kinda sucked, but I'm glad I got the chance to witness the spectacle once.
That's how I feel about The Revenant. Except that The Revenant kinda sucked even while I was watching it.
I didn't think this film was any kind of a masterpiece but not only was it a fine way to waste a couple hours with some popcorn, I simply refuse to shit on any movie where the entire cast is composed almost exclusively of scientists and engineers who are neither morons nor evil. Also, people of a variety of genders…
I kinda assumed that paying Saul was what the $10000 cash part of the baseball card exchange was for. At least some of it, anyway.
I find all theories about the continuity in these movies pretty goofy.
George Miller didn't care, so why so should I?
I've been screaming this at the Internet for months now:
RECIPES ARE NOT "LIFE HACKS!"
The Internet refuses to believe me.
Aha! That makes much more sense.
Near the end when the supposed-to-be-big moment of who the client that created the conflict for Elsbeth was revealed, I was utterly clueless what the significance was. Should I know who this person is? What did they mean when they said "going after Peter and also his daughter"? Was that even what they said? I thought…
Obviously, I don't have any issue with people liking what they like and just as obviously, The Last Dragon is well-liked by many. But I think it's almost assuredly the case that those who like it do so because of nostalgia, not quality. Have you ever met anyone who didn't see it until they were an adult who thinks…
