Sorry, but Parker was absolutely known as Yardbird. Bird is the shortened form and I verified it at his Wikipedia page even (and was immediately reminded of his song "Yardbird Suite" too.) And a quick doublecheck at the Yardbirds page confirms they named themselves after him.

It was Charlie Parker's nickname. Why they named themselves after Charlie Parker is one of the great mysteries of rock and roll but I've always heard that's where they got it.

I always think it's weird when obituaries list a whole bunch of credits ("Action Jackson, Friday The 13th: The Series, Miami Vice, and the cult classic martial-arts musical The Last Dragon" ) but leave out the only good one, which in this case was 52 Pick-Up.

Since this show seems to think leapfrogging inanely across time for no particular reason is compelling storytelling, I got a feeling Diceman will be back. I won't, but he will.

Well, this was bullshit.
Good looking, well acted, bullshit.
Derivative, boring, padded out, bullshit.
Shame, really, but there it is.

Sleeping Dogs Lie

Why the heck ain't The Philadelphia Story on this list?
I admit I've never seen Punch-Drunk Love but it's impossible that it is better.

Haven't read the article yet but I did scroll down to see if Cagney and DeHavilland's Strawberry Blonde was the choice for 'S'. Nope? Sorry, list. You're already wrong.

I think all such complaints can be answered with "alternative universe" since clearly these stories exist in different reality than our own. It's the MCU equivalent of "a wizard did it."

It sure seems to me like these bits are intended to mock the ridiculousness of late night shows. They're certainly much funnier if you view them that way.

I've been a fan of nearly every episode and thought most of the criticisms earlier this season were off. And I think this purported "re-tool" has been nothing but extremely minor tweaks and a lot of hullabaloo over nothing. This was easily one of my fave eps of the season but again, I didn't think there was anything

"Does anyone think Animal’s tweet-guessing game should warrant that much enthusiastic laughter from the audience"

In my mind (admittedly, I've always been a Marvel > DC guy, if for no other reason than you can't read and collect everything), the guy who really supplants Superman isn't really a Superman-knockoff at all, it's Captain America. Because superpowers aren't what's most important to me in a superhero, it's their

Terrible insomnia + Venture Bros not up on any streaming site = misery

No worries then, since the Police Academy films are not classics and they have no fans.

I feel better today after watching The Venture Bros. but I truly appreciate your concern.

Thanks for that response. Really enjoyed reading it and thinking about it.

This show is terrible now and I am terrible for watching it.

I think he's had ups and downs all throughout his career. I mean, You're Gonna Get It! is a definite step down from the debut, imho, and he followed the fantastic one-two punch of Damn The Torpedoes and Hard Promises with the lackluster Long After Dark. I think some of his best songwriting is on the She's The One

While Full Moon Fever was definitely a much bigger album for Petty but Southern Accents went platinum and climbed to #7 on the Billboard charts, so "non-seller" seems like a bit of a stretch.
