True, but it still wasn't centered around anything else on this show. My impatience for all things involving that firm is not decreasing, even if yes, this story was mildly more interesting. It's still a story that should be told on a different show.

Oh, THAT way. Makes sense.

Go on what way? Entertainingly?

I guess I find the whole "we don't know Denise" complaint a little strange since this plot would've worked just fine for me if we'd never even met her before. She's Kermit's new girlfriend. On a lot of sitcoms, that's true for the main characters every week. This could've been a Seinfeld plot — Jerry has a new

Fair enough — guess I shoulda checked the dates.

For my money, if you want Grant and Hepburn at their best together, I'd give the nod to Philadelphia Story. Baby is fantastic, but Cary Grant ain't Cary Grant yet.

I've never been able to put my finger on why the Wilder version doesn't work but the original Adolphe Menjou one does in spades. If His Girl Friday didn't exist, it would likely be remembered much more fondly.

Jerry Adler is always excellent. Any issues with Howard should be directed squarely at the writers.

My wife and I always called her "The Gourd". I don't remember when or why we came up with that but, I dunno… she was awfully gourd-like.

Of course. But they're still disconnected from the rest of the show and without some serious contrivances, I don't see how that could change. This show's a mess being pulled in too many directions.

Even without Howard, what would Diane and Cary be doing that would be interesting or in any way tied to what this show is ostensibly about? The writers are adrift.

Someone needs to go listen to some Hawkwind stat!

Henstridge was fantastic and this was a good, entertaining hour of TV. But it was a terrible episode of THIS show.
I don't think it justified Simmons's behavior that we've seen since her return in previous episodes (especially how long she's waited to tell her story) and I think introducing what is likely going to be

Phil Collins' "True Colors"?
I think Cyndi Lauper, Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly would all like to have a word with the reviewer.

I agree with your main point but as long as we're being pedantic and since you brought it up…
A tomato is a fruit according to the strict 𝑏𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 definition, true. But that doesn't mean that the 𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑟𝑦 definition is wrong. It's just a different definition arrived at for different reasons by

I second "Marine Biologist".
If you don't like that one, this show ain't for you.
(And again, that's fine.)

Others complained about your putting spoilers in the title of the last Agents of SHIELD thread but not putting the name of the show you're reviewing in the title of the thread at all? Perhaps even worse. Bad Job, AVClub.

Yeah, not really comparable based on the many times I've heard Penn discuss it. They like each other, have some common interests, and both agree they do better work together than separately. They don't socialize much, sure, but then, they're together so much why would they need to? Most importantly, they don't appear

OK, this is (I think) the third week in a row that Madam Secretary has been linked to (I think) the same Once Upon A Time review. Is this just sloppiness or am I missing a joke?

Not to mention that voice characterizations drift over the years anyway. If Frank Oz was still doing Piggy, she still wouldn't sound like what you remember either, cuz voices change, simple as that. Jim Henson's Kermit the Frog from the Muppet Show has a somewhat different voice than his Kermit from pre-Sesame Street
