"They call it a soup kitchen…"
It's an intriguing thought, but I don't know if it would have worked. So much of AIC's sound was/is the spooky harmonies between Cantrell and Staley. I don't know if Cantrell and Cornell's voices would have meshed as well. I think Cornell's voice would so overpower Cantrell's that the harmonies would be weakened.

It's all acoustic. An 'unplugged' tour, if you will.
Way too much Jerry to try to single out, but his cover of "The Maker" on the album Shining Star has two heartbreakingly gorgeous solos on it, especially the second one.
I've tried to describe it to people as "watching dewdrops form on a spider web, and at the end, a gentle breeze blows them away".
Sounds dopey as fuck,…
Look up Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dick Dale's cover of Pipeline. Sounds like surfin' while the nuke's fall.
Navarro was SO fucking good.
Hell yes! And no mention of Donald Tr….
My pick would be the solo on "Mother".
This is easy.
The dual solo's of Duane Allman and Dickey Betts on "Blue Sky". Perfection.
Never saw an outfit that pissed anybody off either, but one that made everyone point and laugh.
In the lot at RFK, two large guys with flattop haircuts wearing the polyester 'high school football coach' shorts, mirrored aviator sunglasses, and WAY too bright tie dyes tucked into their coach shorts.
To this day, I…
I was lucky to have been there. It was the first night, not the "Dark Star" night, but once they slid out of 'Slipknot' into 'Franklin's Tower' I was hooked.
That's an honest assessment.
And Franklin's Tower is a kick ass tune, and probably their most accessible.
If you're sincere about buying all the copies, I'm sure the band would love that.
Seems counterproductive, but I guess you gotta do you.

How about "The New Speedway Puritans". I like that one.
Nice. Can't wait until the alcoholics and addicts of the country get their turn to be the persecuted minority.
After all, it's genetic, right? They were just "born that way", right?
When you take into account that most "drunks and druggies" are also mentally ill and self medicate, it's fucked up that you'd reduce…
Of course. You can also make the choice of not bothering to comment on an article that involves two of your least favorite things.
It's the path I usually choose when the subject involves "Rolling Stone" and "Kanye West". I can't stand either one, but millions of people love both, and not a single one is gonna give…
Forget it VonDoom, it's the AV Club. Hatred of the Dead is secondary only to hatred of Republicans. For some fucking reason.
The first Dead show I saw, in Hampton, VA 1989 when they played as The Warlocks, Garcia used that guitar and the crowd went nuts when he came out on stage with it.
Of course, I had no idea of the significance of it. Apparently it was the first time he'd played it in years and years. Awesome introduction to a band…
I know, right? Scorcese has such shitty taste in music, what with his other films about shit like The Band and Bob Dylan. And now these assholes. Who wants to hear or see anything about any of them? It's not like millions of people actually enjoy their music.
