I agree that the "dark" take on Batman is perfectly valid and interesting…but what bugs me is that a 7-year-old kid is sitting at home playing with his awesome Dark Knight Rises action figures, when his parents enter the room and say, "Mommy and Daddy are going to see that sweet new Batman movie. But you can't come.

Some decent, freaky scares in the second episode, but seriously…the soothsaying Spanish girl is completely lame. And the wild conclusion the characters jumped to regarding how to get the mom back from the river…come the fuck on.

Rock is truly dead when people get up in arms about un-PC things being said from a rocknroll stage. You will all forget about this tomorrow.

I would go so far as to say the backing music is very good. "Dragon" has a really cool chord sequence…but Lou…holy fuck.

Most of the rancor here seems to be about how lame Lars/Metallica is. This is all true…but Lou sounds 1,000 times worse than Metallica in these samples. Say what you will about that "Pumping Blood" riff…it's at least competent until grampa starts moaning.

But he was an artist for children, and died at the peak of his popularity with a 5-10 year old audience. Parents had to explain this to and console their kids while they themselves also felt the complete shock of his death. Much sadder than Mark Rothko slashing his wrists or some shit.

The riffs and drumming and Hetfield's vocals are horrible, but the way Lou says the word "despise" is the grossest thing about this song. He says it in the exact same bizarre way like four times in the song!

Got a link? I'm having trouble finding it on MTV's eyesore of a website.

Agreed on all counts. This man is a legend.

You're conflating Dave Abruzzessezzeesseee and Matt Chaimberlain. Dave was the rockstar, Matt Chamberlain was more of a studio whiz/session guy, so I guess he's the one being referred to as jazzy.

I remember when the dudes in Filter claimed that the song was about Dwyer, but I call bullshit. It's either completely about Kurt Cobain or at the very least they got off on the easy association with his recent death. It's so poorly written, it could be about anything, honestly. But they definitely enjoyed the buzz

After a couple seasons of it, it doesn't even sound weird anymore to me.

My problem with Hopper's performance: The script called for Booth's tank to be full of helium, so that when he inhaled and said things liked "Baby wants to fuck!," he'd have a chipmunk voice. This would've been SO AWESOME but Hooper foolishly suggested to Lynch that it'd more likely be [some wacko inhalant] in the

Yes, I guess what I was trying to say (poorly) is that the first real hook of the movie is the discussion of the supernatural, but what follows (the reveal of her possession/obsession) is such a good story on its own, everyone completely forgets that it began as ghost stuff.

I'm not saying the movie turned into  a piece of shit…just that her possession by the dead woman and ability to teleport into her apartment weren't mentioned after a certain point.

The clothes are mind-blowing.

They'd have been much better off leaving it alone. Admit your ghastly fucking mistake and move on.

Maybe this just counts as a "red herring," but the supernatural element of the movie "Vertigo" looks like it's going to amount to something in the beginning. There's talk of possession and Kim Novak's character even mysteriously appears in that boarding house…but by the time she and Jimmy Stewart actually meet, it

Windom Earle is awful. I don't have the will to Google the actor's name but he played it about as broad as a Looney Tune, and his mugging actually ruins some of the scary parts of the finale. Maddy's murder is the best episode; not even close.
