For my 1-year-old daughter I got these great, simple adaptations of the original trilogy called "Epic Yarns." Each page is just a word like "boy" or "princess" and a scene from the movie all done in really cool felt figurines. So I read through an abbreviated version of the stories for her, which is a fun exercise in

Geoff Johns is a hack. He only gets work at DC because he can pump out several scripts a month, and the comic business is more about volume than quality.

Zooropa is an underrated album. Some weak songs on there, but it's mostly good stuff.

How could you not love this episode? I thought it was one of the most true-to-form HIMYM scripts in a long time. You got your unreliable narrator, your story told from three different points of view (and done much better than "The Burning Beekeeper"), your life changing event that doesn't reveal until the third act,

Nick Kroll definitely has the ridiculous nuances of reality TV down. Almost to the point that it's not funny. But it's still funny.

I was in a band that opened for her band once. True story.

"If you’ve seen some other show with a token white person, I would really like to hear about it."
In Living Color?

Weak.

Weak.

Homeland and House aren't better, because they aren't really tacking a lot of different types of mental illness, just the neurosis or psychosis of one main character, and how that affects the people around them. And it always seemed like House's pill addiction was more of a gimmick than anything else. Alphas is just

People have had 15 years to re-learn obsolete technology. I'm willing to bet that anyone who can read could find a book about steam engines in any library and figure out how to make it work within a few weeks. It's literally not rocket science.

Yeah why not coal-powered trains or ships?

This show really wants to be "Lost." It even follows the same structure: Spend a lot of time in the woods walking and talking, dressed like a fashionable hobo and carrying weapons. Someone says "I want to do something for selfish reasons!" and then someone says "We need to do this other thing for altruistic reasons!"

I was hoping someone would point out: A semi-automatic is a pistol. An M-60 is a fully automatic machine gun. I don't think it has a single-shot setting.

Wouldn't two Lego pieces actually be a metaphor for GOOD sexual chemistry? One fits snugly in the other, it's tough to pull them apart, yadda yadda….
