I read several. I was of an age where Trek books were basically the first novel-sized novels I read. I would never admit this to real people, but you guys are cool.

"He's way too far into the book to be saying that" was my thought as well. Nerds!

Someone else will have to answer, as that's where I started and stopped. But he's not a bad writer, and I could believe that he's written good stuff - there are threads in Suns that seem so, so promising. And then so, so disappointing.

We can bitch about House of Suns again? Cool!

Elektra and Daredevil are aggressively middle-of-the-road. The Spirit was so weird I'm not even sure it was a movie.

Catwoman is like five or six bad movies slopped together. But please, never forget, Batman and Robin also happened.

I don't think it's fair to hold TNG writers to that standard. It's not that they're lesser writers for not picking up on the deep SF implications - I mean, of course, they ARE lesser writers, but that's not the point. The path you describe would have conflicted with the show they were making, which is, ultimately, a

I didn't get My Dinner With Andre until Abed gave it away, and I love that movie. I should have got it from the sweater.

I kinda liked the "evil stepdad" plot, even if it was a bit over the top. This suggests that the way Olivia is now isn't entirely Walter's fault, and I appreciate the shading. Oh, and my god, the kids were incredible. That girl in particular had Olivia's evasive intensity down. When she was explaining how she "fell

Thank you Hoodwink.

Michael Palin was pretty great in this format.

+1. Oz was a goddamn mess most of the time, and that's to its credit. Sopranos was great, and certainly more consistent, but Oz (when it worked) was better.

I've watched every bit of footage they've put out, and that was the most exciting yet. The iron throne looks great.

God, I love Buckaroo Banzai with every fiber of my being, but I've never changed anyone's mind about it.

That murky person-shape appearing at the end of the scene freaked me right out. The image sticks with me.

Hey, a chance to mention my favorite thing connected to Grey's Anatomy!

Thanks for the Now And Again reference. I still get sad it didn't last. A very very good show, on its way to being a great one. My favorite superhero show, I think. *

So then twenty years later, it wasn't that the game was a mess - it was that I no longer carried the pure heart to play it. That's comforting!

NIMH is and was a beautiful, mind-blowing movie. It holds up just fine. No, it's not the book, which is great too. It even has a different title.
