The Bubble Bobble arcade box. Flawless in third grade. I tried it again last year and the controls are jacked up. But I think it's also an of-the-moment thing; back then, me and my buddy could go forever on one credit each. Forever! A beautiful dream never to be repeated.

I liked everyone in S2 except Nick. I think it was the actor, to be honest. Ziggy has a great arc. S2 gives you Beadie Russell. And you're keeping up with all your cop friends from S1. I'd stick with it.

Archmage - there's a mindblowing scene in season 1, episode 4 that's the true test. It's a standalone scene, but also greatly informed by what's come before. The dialogue is very limited. At the end of that scene you're either hooked or you're not.

Joe R. Lansdale. I certainly knew he existed before 2010; I loved Bubba Ho Tep and I therefore looked up a few short stories, but this year I started on the Hap and Leonards and they're AMAZING.

I feel like True Blood seasons 2 and 3 expanded the scope of the show considerably, to focus more on Anna Paquin's noticably improved ass. Recommended!

"You my real partner, Lester. My life partner. Look at that bowlegged motherfucker! I made him walk like that."

Mother of Pearl is one of my favorite favorite songs ever ever ever. I'm even on board with the weird prologue section.

Leeta the Dabo Girl was hot, and she even had a satisfying character arc.

The arrangements, HP Sauce. I always wanted my mopey lyrics set to mopey music, and Smiths music is so bouncy. Kinda their whole gimmick, I know, and now it works for me.

I'm not saying anything new here, but it needed to end at two. Dexter/Doakes was the last really compelling contest. Compelling, as is "I can't NOT find out what happens next."

There are a few Obvious Bands that I was aware of before, but finally clicked in 2010.

I rejected Ezri, due to the healthy fantasy relationship I was having with Jadzia. Now, of course, it's all Kira. And how have we gotten this far into a sexytrek thread without addressing Ro Laren?

I loved how little of the reanimated girl there was. One moment of freaky eyes, Roland's chilling "I don't know what I brought back but it wasn't her," and then dead. So much more unsettling because of how little information was given.

Yeah, I was hoping for the cateclysmic destruction of civilization, and instead we'll just get heat death. I guess it's what we deserve.

The thread's well over, but I'll add this anyway: We got a Costco-brand (Kirkland) varieties case of "craft brew" out of morbid curiosity. It was wretched. All the more so for pretending to be something interesting. It was like drinking a Hot Topic.

mratfink, are you thinking of Sneakers? That happens in that movie.

I continue to mix her up with Amy Smart. Not that I don't know which is which when I see them, but I misremember later. As in, "That Elisabeth Banks was certainly entertaining in Crank, not to mention attractive!"

Terriers versus Justified - I hadn't thought about it, but yeah, this gets the edge. It's a richer world. Sent the email, first time for me too.

Was that the chess kid in the S5 finale you're talking about? Yeah, that was a stupid reduction of the show.

Misleading?
The trailers start with the Bad Robot card, so I'm watching snippets of brightly lit, breezy office romance, waiting for a giant monster to fucking wreck the place. From this review, seems like that doesn't happen… ?
