Yeah, Riker's kinda smarmy, but he's charming so it's okay. "The rewards are…more than simple friendship" or something like that. Like Data really cares.

In Japan (I think) Die Hard is called "A Tough Nut to Crack."

The hustlin, the dealin, the robbin, the stealin (uhh!)
(whoo!) The snakes, the grass, too long, to see (uhh, uhh!)
The lawnmower, sittin, right next, to the tree (c'mon!)

Life's rich peagent
I was just not long ago watching the Pink Panther DVD with Edwards' commentary; he was talking about hoping there's an afterlife so he could work with Mancini and people he'd worked with again.

Yeah, Blind Date is pretty great. He's done some questionable stuff (the Peter Sellers "Pink Panther" movie that was basically a clip show, and I think he did one of the ones after Sellers died that was just awful), but man, he did some fantastic movies.

If I remember correctly, Devil's Due was originally an idea for a Star Trek Phase II episode (like The Child from TNG season 2). It's a somewhat fun episode, but yeah, it ain't great. (I remember the "devil" being kinda sexy though.)

I know Keiko got fleshed out more, but I think Zack's comment about how we are introduced to a character and how that impacts how we see that character going forward is true: I never liked Keiko. I haven't seen all of DS9 - and what I did watch was when it was first on - so I need to go and see if that character gets

For some reason I thought this episode was the one where Data tried to go out on a date. Which episode was that? I always remember Riker's speech to Data about how great dating is, like an unfeeling android would give two shits.

It's a high school mentality I think. Outspoken assertive type says someone is uncool; other people fall in line behind it whether it is true or not. Even Mondo went into the partner challenge with Michael C thinking the party line was true, until he actually worked with him. It's schoolyard politics, really, I

Dark Side Of The West: 17 Truly Grim Westerns
John, I just want to say that your writeups have got me into this show. I usually despise "reality" television, and a show about fashion designers isn't something I'd ever be interested in, but after the hubbub over your review of the Gretchen Meltdown Episode, I read the

I actually thought this was pretty good.
It is good for what it is. It isn't trying to be funny, or "lively" or whatever.

Jesus god, was rent in NYC ever actually $400/mo? Even in the early 90s?

May science fail to cure your inevitable death

I've always loved Time Squared. It was one of my absolute favorites when I was a kid. The scene where they watch the shuttle footage and the music they play during the scene was just really unsettling. It still works now, I found. The acting is good.

I love The Royale. It reminds me of something from some older-style sci fi show. It's inconsequential, but it is pretty surreal and I always found the disdain for the book and the way the characters talked in it to be somewhat amusing.

In 3-B. Three beers and it looks good, eh

I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey strong bowels were girded with strength like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo…

So then did the American yum yum clown monkey also represent the FCC?

"Mr. James, what did you mean when you wrote bad clown making like super American car racers, I would make them sweat, War War?"

It makes "sence" in that Stewart is big in England, and that seems to be as good an excuse as any. I give them credit for seemingly skipping ahead to the 3rd season. Maybe they showed the first two and I missed it, but when I saw it was on, it was already in season 3.
