Irek Ismaren's transformation into Lord Nyax nearly redeems his dorky character and book. I mean damn, he turned into a badass monster of legend(literally, the cult of Lord Nyax), far from his dorky origins as a character who was originally implied to be a son of Palpatine.

Yeah when Book 2 was announced last year at Comic-Con, they said 2013. Though I imagine it won't be anytime soon. No trailers or anything, only a few character designs at SDCC last year. Still, I'm excited that before this year is up I'll have more Korra to watch.

I did look at Wikipedia, and he was the guy veiled in shadow a while back who watched Blue Beetle and Superboy fight. Other than that, even Wikipedia lacks much backstory on the guy. I guess he's still pretty new even in the comics, only from 2007.

I'm going to jump on the stray observations with some lore nerding.

I'm hoping they're frontloading all the crap episodes, since the trailers showed the Death Watch and Black Sun and Falleen and Maul menacing the Falleen, so all that should end up being in the back half of the season. That's my biggest optimism about this otherwise fairly weak season.

Don't forget how CN also treated Sym-Bionic Titan the same way in screwing it. Genndy Tartakovsky even revealed in a recent interview that he pitched and they accepted it as one style(that lovable mix of mecha and John Hughes movies), but then the Ben 10s and Generator Rexes got huge and CN wanted Genndy to retool it…
