I imagine Thursday is great live.
I drove two hours to see these guys play with Saves The Day and some other band back in 2002. One band got food poisoning, the other had van trouble, and the third must've said, "Fuck it," because they didn't show up, either. That was fun ride back.

The intro movie is actually masking the game loading, and if you press a key, it will eventually skip as soon as the game has finished loading. You can disable it (go into your installation directory, open UserSettings.ini, and set "NoIntroMovie" to "1"), but you'll be staring a black screen for however long it takes

Emotionally, it was very satisfying. But in the end, it answered few questions. I guess the writers were trying to say that in the end, none of the mysteries or philosophical questions mattered. Only the characters and their relationships with each other.

The End
Let me be the first to say that I'm very conflicted about the ending of LOST.

Who cares about V?
Not to hijack this thread or anything, but how is this up before the LOST discussion? One week V covers up half the screen with their stupid countdown, the next they bogart our Talkback. Fuck V.

@Kermo

I was hoping for some sarky, glib summary of his career

Who?
Am I supposed to know who this is/was? Google reveals he was a "Memphis garage rocker". Well, don't that beat all.

Cocaine!
Thanks for mentioning the Baptist's uproar about Mighty Mouse "snorting coke". This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. One day, my mom brought me to our pastor's office, where he showed us Xerox'ed stills from the cartoon of Might Mouse sniffing the flower petals. I was too young to know what they were

@ korpios
I listen to a lot of synthpop/new-wave stuff, so I checked out the Future Synthpop station you recommended. I've heard this sort of sound before, but I didn't know how to describe it except as "Industrial meets House meets Pop".

Oh Christ, you were 13 when the "All Hallows EP" came out? Thanks for making me feel old.

The word "synthpop" makes me think of Bis, The Rentals, or DAT Politics. None of which have anything in common with VNV Nation except that some of their instruments use electricity. And what is "futurepop"?

Fuck the CancerAids
I got into these guys around the time the "A Fire Inside EP" and "Shut Your Mouth…" came out. I listened through high school, and the beginning of college. But after "The Art of Drowning" came out, I just lost interest.

Eh?
I'm a vegetarian and what is this?

Eh?
I'm a vegetarian and what is this?

So, I guess you're of the opinion that Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl contributed nothing to the music?

I grew up on Miracle Whip — all my extended family used and even called it "mayo", so I never knew the difference. I was in my teens before I ever tasted "real mayo" on a sandwich, and spit it out because I thought it was spoiled. The idea of putting either on a salad is revolting.

Yes, it's Domino's that's currently pushing the carbs covered in carbs in a big bowl of carbs, but they put the pressure on Pizza Hut to come out with their own version. Behold: http://www.pizzahut.com/tus…

"Anchorless" was on a Propagandhi album? Huh. The last Propagandhi album I bought was "How to Clean Everything", and when I heard he'd started a new band and I picked up the album, I was pretty surprised by the change in sound. But it grew on my pretty quick. The first two Weakerthans albums are great; I only listened

McFly
These remind me of old Marty McFly's double-tie in BttF 2. Perhaps the film wasn't totally wrong with its vision of the future, but just off by a decade?
