Jon's short legs aren't really built for running, though. (His height WAS made into a joke here, after all).

Indeed! Someone posted a Chrome Extension that did this in the Kinjapocalypse thread, and I tested it on a Kotaku article with probably about 350-400 comments. And my 4-5 year old Macbook Air definitely started chugging a bit, so I definitely think nothing is going to be able to handle this kind of volume.
I was a bit surprised by there being confusion regarding Gendry: he's clearly the youngest out of the rest of the companions, and so it's logical that he'd run the fastest?
Nah, they wouldn't be able to pull that—two completely different production schedules, branded as separate seasons: contracts would have to reflect that. If they didn't, no one would ever go the "Part 1" or "5.0" nonsense, which is just confusing for everyone involved.
Testing this to try to follow comments on Thrones on Sunday—this definitely works (nice work), although I used it on a Kotaku article with a bunch of comments and my poor 2012 Macbook Air started CHUGGING immediately. But even if my poor processor isn't grateful, I am.
But they're naming Season 8 Season 8, so they're NOT going that route.
I mean, we also know his backstory, insofar as being tortured into creation by the Children of the Forest in order to fight their war for them. But yeah, the blank slate thing is going to run into problems depending on how they transition into the final season.
The ice cracks the instant they step onto it, though. That's not how ice would work in that climate.
Eh, the latter two points are matters of opinion: we see the show differently, clearly. The first is a philosophical view of what reviews are supposed to do, which I consider more of an objective notion from the site's perspective.
The notion that being unable to take the show at face value means that I "don't like the show" is an intriguing one. It's clear you and I don't see eye to eye on the show, and that's fine, but you don't seem to think it's fine: we have different understandings of the show, but that's the point of this process.…
Look, I'd be pleased if this were the case, but who are they putting on a show for when they fight when no one else is watching? If they wanted to play out the story this way, show us their confrontations in public, where Littlefinger could see them and know their plan is working. When you don't do that, it sells out…
The water should have never been that thin to begin with, so trying to apply science to the freezing is a difficult road to go down.
Eh, I don't consider myself a prognosticator, so I don't put any stake in "predicting" the future of the show—not the function of the reviews, on any level.
Look, sometimes your list gets more complicated than you anticipated!
Chicks dig scars, SlipperyJim.
Chekhov's wasn't in there until a friend messaged me and was like "You better work Chekhov's Zombie Bear" in there. And I am nothing if not a people pleaser. (I had already written the paragraph discussing its use as foreshadowing, so it was an easy request to grant).
Basically, it's presumed to be a combination of a few things:
There's a lot of dialogue missing where they clearly chose to avoid dialogue. They could have done a whole "But what if they turn the dragon?/No we can't risk losing another one?" thing but I think they (wisely) decided it would detract from the moment (and keep the end from being a surprise to the people who weren't…
Pitch Perfect 2 is a bad movie that should feel bad. (The race and gender stuff in that movie is just MESSY, and they phone in a D2: The Mighty Ducks storyline that could have been interesting).
AHEM: The actress from Borgen. Let us not speak of the abomination that is Pitch Perfect 2 unnecessarily. (I appreciated the recent interview with Nina Gold where she admitted she's obsessed with Scandinavian drama, hence why we've gotten two prominent Borgen actors).
