Harriet Tubman?

Based off of the chatter I've seen on the interwebs. Not really considering thorough critical assessment here, as I'm sure it'll receive universal praise

Looks like reception to it has been surprisingly lukewarm, but I think it's excellent. Unlike anything I've really heard in hip hop, and I think that's probably why. 2015 has been a great year for music so far

FYI "King Kunta" just leaked, and it's a goddamn wonderful song

Thanks, new friend. (We're friends now, right?)

Joey Bada$$' proper debut came out this year (B4.DA.$$) and it's excellent but slightly lacking variety (pay specific attention to his flows, because they're masterful). I'd also suggest downloading Chance the Rapper's album Acid Rap ASAP, as it's available for free.

R&B is a tough genre it get into as far as recent music goes. There are a few classic albums since around 2000, but outside of that, the genre is pretty desolate. blacksummers'night, Voodoo, and Black Messiah are stone cold classics. Usher has his highs and lows (Climax is my fav R&B song in years), and if you want

IDFWBIGSEAN tho

His drumming is really the best part of some of their best songs - "Crash Years" and "All for Swinging You Around" come to mind immediately

Not really expecting another classic here (good kid, m.A.A.d city was about as good of a rap album as I could hope for), but new music from K-dot is something I'll always look forward to

Seems like Greg is a little too weirded out by gem stuff to be on board with something like a fusion, though a GregQuartz would have a thoroughly rocking mane of hair

I thought it was also a really nice callback to So Many Birthdays - the gems now care enough about Steven's birthday that they go out of their way to make special plans for him! It's really sweet

When Ruby and Sapphire saw each other, t was so goddamn beautifully executed. You could tell how much they just couldn't stand to be apart. I don't think I've ever seen such a striking, honest representation of what it means to love someone

Also, I love the underlying plot thread here - that runs throughout almost the entire series - that Earthlings (Earthicans?) are really a bunch of imperialist, belligerent assholes in the galactic community. Really makes a lot of sense

Are the writers just ignoring the fact that Garnet can see all possible future outcomes? It's a bit annoying that the show only uses her power as a plot device when it wants to. Garnet should know exactly who is coming and exactly when they're getting to Earth, since I feel as though there are few outcomes in which

LIVE. MUFFIN. REPEAT.

I started hating it almost immediately, although I loved the show. I kept doing that thing every episode where you try to slide the progress bar past the opening credits, but you wind up taking longer than the actual credits would take to find the perfect spot where it ends

Valid counterpoint. But still… McClane!!!

This is a pretty huge relief. There's not many franchises that I can claim I grew up with, but Toy Story has been really important to me - I feel like I was in that sweet spot age-wise when each film of the trilogy came out. I'm glad Pixar is paying the franchise the proper respect

She had a nice story arc too. Her character showed legitimate growth in a show that suffered from too many stagnating characters
