I love how they eased the viewer into the fact that they'd be saying "fuck" very frequently in the special. They acknowledged that hearing it would be jarring to the viewer (it always is when you hear someone uncensored), and they pretty much said "yes, deal with it - it's funny."

Jerry walks out of City Hall. His limp gradually dissolves into a confident stride as a limousine appears to pick him up. He suddenly dies from a Fart Attack.

Needs more Tingle

Also some of the enemies felt a little unfair. And the pace at which they're throw at you - at times - makes it very difficult to manage your health. I couldn't imagine beating it without saving frequently (I played on WiiU virtual console), and I'm almost glad I never played this as a kid as I'm sure there's no way

I feel obligated to respond as per my username. The great thing after completing Ulysses is knowing you'll probably never read it cover-to-cover again - it's really fun to pick it up and read an episode alone as its own work without feeling the pressure of having to complete the rest of it

BIG RED NO

Oh hey - this band took their name (I suspect) from a really nice poem called "We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks. So- good for them!

The first reaction from a listener after listening through this album should be "I don't get it." It's clearly meant to be challenging, which, to me, is incredibly welcome in a genre that doesn't really typically reach too far (the fact that we can only point to a handfull of "great" R&B albums in the past 20 years

There are some moments that are undeniably Questlove, but it doesn't sound like him on every song. In that Rolling Stone interview, it sounds like he has been involved with this album throughout its entire development (which may go back several years). But the creative process behind this album is pretty much

As far as raw power in an R&B song, I think Usher's "Climax" is the best of the last 5 years or so. D'Angelo clearly has set a new benchmark, though, that probably won't be topped for the next decade

I don't know - BLACKsummers'night in '09?

Not to say that the vocals aren't goddamn transcendent. It's just nice to hear that the band can hold their own being up against an incredible talent

Who exactly are the members of The Vanguard? Is that Questlove on drums? (It sounds a lot like him on some tracks). There's also some really nice guitar-playing on some tracks.

RIP boners :(

I've said this elsewhere in the comments, but I think the birthday party scene was the most memorable for me. You really get a full sense of the mother's (can't remember the character's name) desperation and grief when she just doesn't know how to properly handle herself in a social setting - she's just that far

I mean Lennon did physically abuse his first wife, so maybe a shitty Christmas song isn't that bad?

I'm surprised that's the case! It's pretty easy to find (I watched it On Demand the day of its release), and it was a really great and really affecting movie that left me with a very satisfying mix of emotions at the end.

I'm really surprised over the lack of mentions of The Babadook in these comments

really flawless and underrated air-drumming by Alfred Molina in that scene
