I've got my GF fully hooked on Diablo 3 at this point, so the new patch landed at the PERFECT time to get her addicted to Rift and GRift grinding. She's a higher Paragon than me.
Also, I've gotta make some time to play a few missions in MGS V, and possibly finish Fez. That game in particular has been just STARING at

Did you even read what you just wrote? Racial hatred can be overcome by hatred of women, and the movie isn't misogynistic? That's kinda sorta the definition of misogyny.

You had me pretty convinced until the last paragraph. QT played up the violence against her for laughs, because it was shocking/transgressive. At least, that's how it played in the theater where I was at.

I'm not the biggest Bowie fan on the planet (for a really good approximation of my Bowie sensibilities, see Tom Junod's piece at Esquire), but I listened to Ziggy Stardust and Hunky Dory and teared up at both of them. I really fucking hate that he's dead; I can't imagine what some of my Bowie fanatic friends are

Oh god, I hoped this wasn't going to be "Facts." That song is the wackest shit ever.
No More Parties though, is some pretty real shit.

Literature: Read at least three Terry Pratchett books, 1Q84, and reread Moby Dick and William Gibson's Bridge trilogy, among other assorted books. Also, to never fall behind on my New Yorker subscription.

Every review I've read of Hateful Eight tends to focus on that letter, which makes me wonder if they paid attention to the rest of the nihilistic, misogynistic film that is the majority of its running time.
Maybe it was just the theater I saw it in, but I was surrounded by stoners and guys wearing Untapped shirts that

You might be me. I have such a thing for Chosen ladies.

Fucking THIS. It's INCREDIBLY easy to get sucked into staff management and side missions to level up your gear and avoid doing story stuff.
I legitimately love this game (and am slowly, slowly getting my girlfriend into it), but CHRIST it's a time suck.

First sentence: yes. Second sentence: no.
Look up That Dragon, Cancer or The Stanley Parable if you want to see art in action.

I'm perpetually late to games (too many other things in my life), but my goal for the weekend is to FINALLY beat Transistor (I'm stuck between doors in a really weird area), rescue Emmerich in MGS V, and level up a few times with my girlfriend in Diablo III.
We're also going to hopefully get through Jessica Jones this

Phenomenal live show, super catchy songs. Beware: your girlfriend will fall in love with Rhett and grow to love their music even more than you do. This happened to . . . someone I know.

"More than one"? Besides the Beric Dondarrion method, what is there?

Is it possible to avoid reviewing this yet? This seemed more as if it were setting up the season instead of necessarily advancing a plot point. Which I guess is the point of a season opener . . .

Oh god please shut up

My favorite translation: "Meet the Spartans" became "A Crazy Movie About Spartans" in Spain.

Can they do one for Achewood and then explain what the hell Onstad has been up to???

Can we PLEASE get some kind of prostitute or something to come in and have a child out of wedlock with this guy or something? I have serious Kirk Cameron fatigue.

So are we just completely avoiding rappers with this?

The part that really got me is that feeling like you don't want to be a burden on people. That's one aspect of my own depression that I rarely hear talked about. I used to, and very rarely still do, have the thought that people might be sad for a while, but they'd realize (consciously or not) that their lives would be
