No shame in liking "Adore". It's a decent album.
"Drown" is a fucking great song. I love the feedback solo.
I love British Sea Power, but I thought "Valhalla Dancehall" was rather mediocre. Something seemed to be missing; but at least there was at least a moment that hearkened back to "Apologies to Insect Life".
I thought "Circuital" was a much better album than "Evil Urges", and it kills live. But I can see it not really making that many top 10 lists as well.
And kudos for putting M83 on your list—I've been listening to that one a bunch since it came out.
Yes, we've reached the point where we now have to react crazily in the other direction with the Odd Future collective.
It's great to see a band you love gain success without betraying their past. I'm totally fine with people now understanding what the hell my "The Black Keys Akron Ohio" shirt is referencing, and will sing along to their songs on the radio.
Took a look, and did see some votes. Clearly the others that didn't agree are philistines.
Surprises
Thought I'd see "Helplessness Blues", "Slave Ambient", and "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" on this list, and was hoping that "Burst Apart" was not forgotten. On the other hand, I'm glad that Yuck and Cloud Nothings got votes—great albums, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from both of them.
@avclub-fe7fb5b07e72161a27cca446df46743e:disqus I'm well under 30, but I still identify with the song. Though maybe I can just project how I'll feel in a decade.
I had no idea that there was such a show—my mind instantly added "Brown" to it, and I figured that was the real name of the Peanuts Christmas special.
DETLEF SCHREMPF
So many great lines in that one. "I hear that you and your band have sold your guitars and bought turntables. I hear that you and your band have sold your turntables and bought guitars." It's weird that a dance music guy actually makes you pay attention to what he says because the lyrics are so great.
The line that always hits me is "The coffee isn't even bitter, because—what's the difference?" Such a great song
They're a different kind of suck, one that's much more hilarious to me. The extended riff that Workaholics had about them a couple of weeks back alone justifies their existence.
Along those same lines, don't insult 7 Mary 3.
There can be no reasonable discussion when it comes to Nickelback.
With special guest, Rep. Maxine Waters!
You've got Joe's Pizza and Bleecker Street Pizza over on one side for a good New York slice, and then there's Two Boots a short walk over on the east for more idiosyncratic tastes. Ben's isn't bad by any means, though.
