I agree to a point. What I really loved about Red Dwarf season1-6 is that the show got progressively better as it went on, reaching a creative peak IMO in series 6 (in which all 6 episodes are of a consistently high quality, not one dud.) Actually Insomnia's the only movie of his in which I found him compelling. Even in his 'quiet, reflective' roles, like Good Will Hunting, he gets on my nerves.
