Movies that were better than the book
Stephen King:

I call him Bobby Law Stine. Whenever he would come into the bar in Sausalita we would all be like "yo Bobby Law, write something about goo that comes alive!"

Please quote away, Im curious to see it.

Some people live by the Dark Tower, but I think Tasha summarizes it well - there is so much bad to go with the good that it might not be worth it. I read a few books in and stopped. Admittedly, I've basically moved away from all genre fiction since then, but I still have to say I disagree when people start talking

Salem's Lot
Mysteriously exempt.

"respected movie actress "
Show me one role she's had that wasn't either shit or simply forgettable.

Out of curiousity, has Caruso ever admitted who his primary account is?

To tell you the truth, I used to watch Lost, but was part of the group of people who stopped watching towards the end of season 2.

Reading was just the first and most obvious suggestion for something better you could be doing with those 60+ hours each year. Tell me more details of your life and I could give more specific suggestions.

This is funny
But its still not dumber than "Emancipation of Mimi" That title is a fucking work of art.

ANNUAL rewatch of Lost? You need to read more books.

So we are already calling Dollhouse "beloved"?
Really?

I kind of liked Ray Wise until the AVC did a random roles with him and asked him about Tim & Eric… and he had no idea what the fuck it was. Clueless Hollywood nobodies annoy me.

Til death is almost like Brad Garrett going to comedy clubs and paying them to perform his act. I guess they are just dying to have enough years for syndication and hope it can be worth a fraction of what Raymond was worth.

Saying Underworld needs to be edited is a big cop-out. It will come off as tedious because, quite simply, we've been trained to read 350 page novels with clearly defined sections, chapters, and timelines. If you find Underworld tedious because it didn't have these things, try to differentiate between things that make

I view it as the Harry Potter of movies. "Its getting kids and families interesting in learning again!" but it's still schlock.

The taking…
of Pelham 1 2 3. Is it really a "taking"? I mean, its on the subway tracks. They aren't taking it, per se. What makes this more confusing is that when I travel on the subway, I say I am "taking" the subway. But I'm not taking it in the sense Travolta is in this movie. I mean, the taking of pelham 1 2 3

He is directing a film he didn't write?
Great! It only took him about 10 movies to realize he needed to do this. Hopefully in another 10 films he'll realize he shouldn't direct or write movies at all and we'll be all set.

I actually like it to, but I'll chalk that up to the writing. The worst part of the movie is the tedious air plane sign thing, which I'll definitely blame on Odenkirk. He took a mildly funny premise and stretched it out into an uncomfortable crescendo which I imagine he wanted to come off as sincere and a nice ending.

Just read the nytimes interview… holy shit. He managed to get off his Johnny Carson impersonation. Whatever comedic sense he once had is gone. It's like they were interviewing a crazy uncle who thinks he is hilarious but everyone just sits and rolls their eyes.
