Did I really just read that Mindy Kaling has a 7 FIGURE DEAL? I think she is a great writer and all, but wow, that basically puts her in the 99th percentile when it comes to tv writer pay. She must have an incredible agent.

All very good points, Denby, but for some reason the connection between ad-revenue and the internet seems to have died. There are tons ranked in the top 100 globablly that still have not figured out a way to make any real money. I agree, though, that if avclub stays lean and mean it should be able to survive.

I would've been more surprised
If the newswire said "Dom DeLuise is still alive". They should have ran that story last week, would've been more interesting.

Can you guys realistically sustain yourself on online-only ad revenue?
I've been thinking about this - sadly - for the past few months. Avclub is just a great, consistently entertaining web site - but I can't imagine it making any real money through its online ads.

There is nothing that makes me feel worse than when I complain about something trivial and then one of the avclub staff very cordially responds. I would almost rather them tell me to fuck off.

Kara might have the worst writing credentials of all time. Check out her discography - and its not like songs that are so bad they are fun to listen to - its songs that are so bad you never hear them. I think she writes all Hillary Duff's music and shit like that.

Oh - Paula continuing to explain to every eliminated contestant about how famous they are about to become still gets me every time. There is an abundant amount of evidence that this will just not be happening for most of these contestants.

Notes and Errata
From my Wikipedia days: Technically, Lambert was never stated to be in the bottom two. It has basically been accepted, encyclopedia-wise, that whatever Seacrest says is Canon. Lambert was one of the last two standing on the stage, but it was never said he was the bottom 2.
