Voice
Smashing Pumpkins could be incredible, and I wouldn't know it — all because of this guy's voice. Incredibly whiny AND a 1/4 octave range? No thanks.

No mention of Harpers Bizarre? They did a lot of interesting things: covers of old songs ("Anything Goes"), works of then-young singer-songwriters (Van Dyke Parks, Randy Newman), and weirder, more psychedelic stuff like "Witchi Tai To." And their guitarist (Ted Templeman) went on to produce The Doobie Brothers and Van

I really like "Community" — I stopped watching "The Office" 2 years ago and "30 Rock" this year. I really don't understand the "Parks and Recreation" love — I've watched it three times and haven't laughed once. I know Michael Shure is supposed to be funny, but perhaps it's like a Snuffleupagus of a show — only funny

Sarah
I was a little bored by this episode, I have to say. They've really ratcheted up the drama, and the whole Sarah plotline therefore seemed a little weak. We go from Ben being kidnapped and almost killed to Sarah… moving to Portland? Not so dramatic, and sort of done before — haven't we always known that she wants

Molly Shannon?
You like her? Really? I think she is the exact opposite of funny — everything I've ever seen her do is totally unfunny.

I don't care for Scorsese or DiCaprio, but what pushed this into the "no" pile for me is the fact that the trailer seems to play every time I go to a movie or turn on the TV. Seeing DiCaprio trying to play grown-up 25 times is excessive.

BTW, not to change topics, but does anyone here play MW2 online? I am seriously ready to play against people who are not gay-bashing white supremacists.

I think I decided not to buy that game when, about 2 minutes into the demo, I had to push R1 to use my asthma inhaler.

The spoken word section of the song is great, but my favorite line is:

How unsurprised was everyone re. the fact that Mollie was a pageant kid? Ugh.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"? Is that the one where they say and do racist and sexist things and we laugh at it and tell ourselves that we're laughing ironically? Or is that the Sarah Silverman one?

I agree with nilus re. The Sopranos. Why it's considered this seminal work of art I don't understand. Wow — mobsters are complicated people, sometimes nice and sometimes horrible. Thanks. I think I knew that.

Maybe I'm just tired of the incessant fawning over Ditka, but it seems to me that:

I would be interested to know Jimmy the Greek's actual success rate. We heard a lot about his big wins, and a little about his losses (mostly just setting the line in the Jets-Colts Super Bowl), but I wonder how he did over the long term? My guess is, "not very well." The rise of sabermetrics in baseball (and the

Relax
This is one of my favorite 80's songs (I'm ordering a "Frankie Say" t-shirt right after I type this), but what's with the editing/censoring of the lyrics?

The Son
I really felt for his son. Dead siblings, disgraced and then dead father who coulda made a killing for his family in Vegas but never pulled the trigger.

I didn't care for Craig Kilborn, but I did like this:

I like what I've seen of Chapelle's Show, but didn't he stop making it in part because he was concerned that his humor was being used in a racist manner by some of his audience?

I would love to see
Dot.com (is that how you write it) given more to do. And I'd like to see Kenneth given far, far less to do. In small doses, he's comedy gold, like Stephen Stucker as Johnny in Airplane. In large doses, he becomes just another wacky sitcom character. The town's mayor was a horse? Jesus, what is this

Wilpon
Did I mishear? Or did Michael Wilpon try to compare Bias's death to the JFK assassination?
