You could also do some version of chicken cacciatore or chicken piccata. Great way of using leftover wine and that half jar of capers that lives in the fridge.

This is the laziest, fancy thing I can think of:  One small, round brie, one sheet of puff pastry, one jar apricot preserves (or orange marmalade or blueberry compote if you're feeling it).  Smear brie with a generous dollop of preserves, wrap in puff pastry and bake until the puff pastry is golden.  Serve with

The reason people went batshit on the show is that a) Lena Dunham is talented but caters to a limited audience b) she is a talented person who happened to have a network of rich/creative/connected people to give her a leg up and a lot of struggling writers resent the fuck out of it c) is 26 and d) she is ballsy enough
