JofB - if something like Cthulhu had shown up, we all would've lost our minds and killed ourselves.

Thrilled to see "Premium Rush" on this list.   I felt like it didn't get the attention it deserved.
Also glad that "Elena" didn't make the list.  It got way too much attention.

I though the bait and switch at the end — ie, we're headed to the theater, we see Tad at the theater, the curtain falls, "The President's been shot!"  oh but wait, in a DIFFERENT theater! — was the worst moment in a very good movie.   It reminded me of the stupidity of Prometheus.

My God.  I thought they kept making Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy movies because, no matter how stupid and repetitive they were, they made money.  If that's not the case, then what in the world is the justification at this point?

Can't help but feel like the Martin Scorsese edit is going to be worse instead of better.  This movie needs to be shorter, not longer.
Things that should've landed on the cutting room floor:
1. Matthew Broderick.
2. Either the Kieran Culkin sex scene or the Matt Damon one.  Don't need both.
3. The abortion.
4. The

Funny to me that your favorite scene is the one in the store.  It feels to me like a weak replay of the scene with the dress from last week ("Shindig.")

Come on.  Nobody pays attention to Westboro anymore.   Even crazy conservative fundamentalist Christians think they're nuts. You're just advancing their agenda by giving them publicity.

I didn't mean over thinking on the creative end, but on the audience end.  A lot of good movies in other dramas grow better on deeper analysis.  I think most comedies just grow worse.  There are exceptions, though.

"If this exact film was made in '05, I would be more than willing to watch in the theater but now I wonder if I'll bother putting it in my Netflix queue."
So wait…its availability on DVD makes you LESS likely to watch it on DVD?

They're playing….whatever the hell that game is they're playing - so they're stripped down to their skivvies.   They're usually wearing big jackets and whatnot.

Can somebody explain to me why there are no signs of struggle on the ship?   The episode is set up to be all ghostly and mysterious - the plates of food, the half-finished log entry - and then the big mystery is just…Reavers.  Who don't seem the least bit stealthful in their method. Shouldn't there be lots and lots
