Thanks for the reply. I forgot about the gladiatorial games that Spartacus forced the Romans to do. You're right that it doesn't seem like something this Spartacus would do. He's too honourable, in a way.

Yes, his expression when that woman threw herself at him was a brief moment of levity, in an otherwise harsh episode.
I found this episode extremely uncomfortable to watch.
Whenever I have rewatched the show (before the start of each new season), I always skip the pilot.
I don't remember the exact line but she pointed out that Tiberius was not a child and that Crassus should treat him like any other soldier.
What grade would you have given this episode, Carrie?
Taken out of context, it is kind of dumb. But it reminded me of Matt and Jeremy in one of TVD's lighter moments when they were playing on it, and it made Matt's grief in the car at the end even more poignant, as he and Jeremy had become quite close.
Remember when this show had Giancarlo Esposito, post-Breaking Bad, and cast him as a mirror?!
Yeah, I still haven't got over that.
-Katie Cassidy really annoys me as Laurel, mostly because her face doesn't move. It's a little creepy.
I'm not sold yet on Ceasar but I'm trusting in the showrunners to prove me wrong as I was unimpressed by both Manu Bennet and Dustin Clare in their first few episodes. Now, I prefer them both to Spartacus. So far though, Caesar is Thor-lite. And what, by Jupiter's cock, was that woman doing with the knife?
Also, can someone please tell me why I can sign in with Twitter on my phone but not on the laptop? Thanks
This show, despites it's flaws, just makes me so happy. I spend the entire hour smiling, except when something sad happens and then I am suitably moved.
About time. Now I can go back to wasting hours reading articles and comments on the AVClub about American TV shows that I don't even watch. Yippee.

That's the only reason I'll be watching it, to see if he plays the role the same way he's been playing every role for the past decade.
