That episode is an incredible piece of journalism. The social worker breaking down in tears while explaining why she couldn't go to the homecoming game was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever heard.

Friday Night Lights is a good example of a drama that focuses on people in the middle and lower classes. Product placement would have you believe that Dillon's entire economy revolves around an Applebee's.

I don't mean to pick on you, but this seems like a good enough place to address the "this show failed because liberals can't take a joke" argument. If people like you are blaming the show's failure on its propensity to offend liberals and not on its failure to be consistently funny, why didn't it just find a sizable

That is the worst comment I've ever seen on this site.

The impression I got from the review was that it was serviceable and entertaining-enough as a television show in the way that the VH1 list things can be, which might elevate it above the perplexing content of the list itself.

Good to hear, then. I haven't watched much of this season (still fun to read the reviews), but I'll probably check out this episode after seeing all of the positive responses.

Game of Thrones is certainly popular, but South Park, SNL and The Simpsons are constantly mining cable television shows for lazy references when they can't come up with more original material (there was a recent episode where Homer's life suddenly becoming Mad Men was the A plot because… the writers watch Mad Men, I

Talking about television on the A.V Club means that you don't have a life? I guess I'm screwed, then : /

I'm not going to defend Sony here, as it's a blatantly anti-consumer move, but it isn't unprecedented in the context of game console accessories. The Xbox 360, for example, has similarly overpriced proprietary hard drives.

The 3G model is also the only one with a GPS chip included. Outside of limited applications in "near," I'm not sure that it will ever be used for anything interesting, but I suppose it's worth mentioning.

So, uh… how about that WTF with Matt Graham?

Wow, only four comments? This game deserves more than that!

Oh cool, you guys got around to covering the Giant Bombcast. Personally speaking, I loved this week's episode, and found the "pointless" tangent about pizza to be very funny, but I can see someone who wants only game coverage being irritated by such things. If you aren't into their humor and personalities, the podcast

I'll back you up on this. I find myself laughing nearly every episode.

Tree of Life and Drive, at least, benefited from releasing in windows that had nearly no competition (critically speaking), so there was a lot of discussion about them earlier this year. Unfortunately, I hadn't heard of almost anything else on their list beforehand.

I'm only speaking for myself, but no, not really. There are a lot of shows that I was only mildly interested in but eventually decided to check out because of critical discussion surrounding them. Like almost every other person that visits sites like these, I loved a lot of older Simpsons episodes to death. I've

Yeah, that review was pretty terrible. As someone that's generally detested the newer episodes of the show, I still lurk around for reviews of the newer ones to see if any of them are worth checking out. After seeing an "A," I was hoping to see why it would be of interest. The only things that I learned were that the
