Growing up in that era, I would totally go see a movie of this theme and caliber and Linklater direction set in 1995.  Should the film open up to the sound of, instead of "Sweet Emotion," something like the ridiculously-popular-around-that-time STP single "Plush?"

I saw a bunch of the great R-rated comedies of the '80s when I was a kid:  Police Academy, Stripes, Vacation, etc. where the plot generally follows the formula:  comedy, swearing, comedy, comedy, tits, comedy, swearing, comedy, comedy, swearing, tits, comedy, swearing, comedy, and denouement.

In Season 2 of the Sarah Conner Chronicles, there's one episode where Summer Glau keeps mysteriously disappearing.  We find out that there was some guy in a wheelchair that she was visiting.  This subplot (and the wheelchair character) never appear again.
