Well, at the time, Centurions was Hanna-Barbara, and they tend to be… uh… the best (?) of the batch of animation at the time. They did a few action-cartoons that looked quite decent when compared to Filmation or DIC.

Mac and Me is to live-action movies as Foodfight! is to animated movies as Bubsy is to video games.

Jim Henson already played with this idea in his show Dog City, which isn't actually too bad. Henson, who named his characters Miss Piggy and Kermit "Dee" Frog, managed to avoid this by naming the main character Ace Hart.

These are the Helens you know?

"Such coy rebuffs, as most farmers will tell you, only serve to make pigs more attractive"

"and over the course of the episodes sent to critics, it’s obvious that
the writers know this too, as the scenes between the characters get
longer and more in depth."

I'm not the only one who verbally made those titters after the end of half his lines, right?

NEEEEEWWW YOOOOOORK

Mega Burger might be TOO much. I'll just settle for a Good Burger.

I think dragon meat would be fairly tough but tender as hell. I've had alligator while down in New Orleans and thought it tasted light a tougher pork chop.

Krabby Patties are definitely high on my lift. I also wanted to try Gummi Berries and Gummi Berry Juice for some reason.

That whole second paragraph is a giant hunk of delicious cheese that will be waiting for me on my DVR.

Might be a long shot, but does anyone have the one where we pretty much wrote an entire Dan Brown novel in the comments? That's definitely my favorite.

I'm tired and partial drunk, but now I'm going to over-explain the joke to complete and utter unfunniess:

I found this episode more funny than good, which is a kinda odd thing to say, but then again it seems to be a critique for a lot of cartoons these days.

This is one of the odder FYCs around. At the risk of being "that" guy, I'm not sure the author's been exploring voice acting in animation all that much (given that this is all about Archer).

@avclub-ecbdad96460f85751944de9d6c2d50fe:disqus There's a few stories in the run that predates a lot of modern stories told today. I'm sure you're aware of the whole thing about Inception being "based" on a Ducktales comic, right?

There are the Ducktales/Darkwing Duck comics out in the trades now, and they're fantastic. Ian Brill is the writer and James Silvestri is the artist.

Part of the reason I've been doing a lot of this Disney Afternoon writing is BECAUSE I want to know where the hell The Mighty Ducks came from, among other wild questions from that era.
