Interesting people are talking about this. HA and HA2 aren't cartoons, and they aren't really "cartoony" even during the slapstick moments, but I wonder if these moments (the brick, the electrocution) took you out of the film not necessarily because they were a bit sick, but they pushed the internal logic too far.

The old cartoon A Pup Named Scooby-Doo did an episode where the bad dude was trying to smuggle drugs. The drugs were indeed just called "drugs" and simply brown mush in a ziplock bag.

The only thing that REALLY bothered me in TDKR: there were two fight scenes where the thugs had guns, but they never actually really fired them at Batman. It was really nuts; they didn't even TRY to shoot at him.

What I like about Tosh is, unlike Dane Cook, Tosh seems at least somewhat self-aware about his douchebaggery (while this may not excuse his more tasteless jokes, it kinda explains them). And he -kinda- knew he may have went over the line by apologizing (kinda) on Twitter. He could have pulled a Chris Brown.
