Gillen was certainly a tough act to follow, but man—it was really discouraging how fast that book dropped off the radar when Immonen took over, because she was doing great work of a different sort.

Belatedly, I would highly recommend breaking that stance for this book. These past two issues were delightful.

I love it for what we got, and I mourn it for what we missed out on—not just a completed TtMA storyline, but also the chance for a reimagined Marvel continuity in that truly all-ages style. Clevenger & Gurihiru's Captain America: The First Avenger one-shot and the Cap & Thor time-travel crossover were tantalizing

I was ready to argue for Waid & Martin/Rivera/Samnee's Daredevil, but I'm going with Samnee & Langridge's Thor the Mighty Avenger instead because I'm still not over it.

Continuing my never-ending battle for truth and justice to finally vanquish my TBR pile, I played catch-up again this week—Patsy Walker, aka Hellcat! #1-2 (fun!), Scarlet Witch #1-2 (intriguing!), Silk #2-3 (my feelings are too complex for a single word this was a dumb idea!), and The Mighty Thor #2-3 (Lokis!).

So.

Well, technically it would be Perfect Strangers, but I'm willing to see where this theory goes.

I'll be honest… I was not expecting Family Matters as the go-to example for the literal manifestation of a split personality in popular fiction.

Sarcasm, friend.

Well, it's that whole "No ticket" line, isn't it? Silent Bob is introduced earlier in the film as a fan of John Hughes movies, but in the first of his only two lines of dialogue, he quotes a Steven Spielberg movie.

Director Kevin Reynolds and star Kevin Costner clearly thought they were making a serious, important film […]

Yeah, she was really good—and especially considering the dialogue was apparently mostly ad-libbed.

Got this for the holidays and just watched it this weekend. Fantastic special effects—especially considering the budget—and solid performances from the whole cast, but as everyone else has said Boyega's performance really stands out. Glad he's done well since.

Believe, bruv.

I got the Flying Queen Alien as a birthday present one year. It was certainly a thing made of a lot of translucent blue plastic.

As you can see, the real deal with Ram-Man and Fisto is that they're Prince Adam's assistants. They're in their early forties, are unmarried, and currently reside in Eternia.

Exactly. Despite years of comics-reading experience, it still boggles my mind that DC could approve that sequence and still expect her to be seen as a remotely sympathetic character, let alone comic relief.

I don't usually get so reductive, but since Doom is the bad guy I didn't believe him! Or rather, I didn't think he was being entirely truthful when he said that to Reed, anyway—"They chose me… when I erased their memories of you and used what I knew of them to take your place," sort of thing.

Ah.
