MINOR minor SPOILERS: There's a young man who serves as one of his pallbearers next episode—I wondered whether that was meant as a reference / early cameo for Phil.

I love that line, and I try to work it into everyday conversations whenever possible, but it's really difficult to simulate the sound effect of throwing a small child at someone.

My favorite part of this episode—particularly after the discussion in the comments for last episode about Nobu going full ninja—was the line, "I think he was some kind of… ninja." Matt's uncertainty, and his & Foggy's shared incredulity over the fact he almost got killed by an actual ninja was perfect. In the midst of

Please tell me he renames it "Handles."

Yep, the mark of Shou-Lao the Undying, sans wings—definitely the Steel Serpent emblem. For all the fun moments this series has had so far, that close-up on the heroin packet logo in a later episode was the first thing that made me hit Pause and say "Holy crap" out loud.

How is it ridiculous? I always thought it was essential to the story. As a kid, I used to lie awake at night, contemplating it—wondering how many power converters Luke was going to pick up, what size they might be, what he was going to use them for…

I think people who complain about "Whiny Tidus" are the same people who've given Mark Hamill crap for 40-odd years over that "Tosche Station … power converters" line—they're hung up on a deliberate acting choice meant to convey something about the character to the exclusion of the character's later development. Which

It's a trap.

It occurs that "aficionado" was perhaps too strong a word for my appreciation of yo-yo-based combat. Let us instead say, "Me think funny when yo-yo hit person in head!"

Who doesn't?!

Jennifer Hale's voice is a favorite, full stop.

Oh yeah, any of those are a good step above Assault in my book—CoTE in particular, just on the strength of Gina Torres' and James Woods' voice-acting.

And any plot that involves SPOILERS: Batman allowing several murders to take place right in front of him so as not to blow his cover demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of Batman.

Yes, this. The line reading he gives for "Sleeper" is fantastic.

It's this scene, that game, and that one part of the mall fight in TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze (which, incidentally, did not reveal any secrets pertaining to the aforementioned ooze and would've been way better with more yo-yo fights).

As an aficionado of yo-yo-based combat, this episode has always been a favorite.

It just goes to show, with all this brouhaha breaking out on the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Downeaster Alexa, that the Good Lord really does have a plan.

Cake or death cookies?

God wills it!

I dread the day when these morons somehow manage to convert an editor, because then we'll only be able to mock them for their ridiculous actual beliefs instead of their lackluster command of English spelling and grammar.
