Maura Tierney once again kills it as Helen. Probably the best actress on TV now — who should be doing movies — I really don't get all the hate for the character. Keeping her secret and the self hate has been the obvious cause of so much of her problems, and it was a crazy relief when she admitted to her kids that

She kills it every episode, whether it's a little scene or if she has to carry it. Time for her win, agreed.

Cole is great but Helen is the most interesting character. Because, Maura's acting. The bar scene was the best part of the ep.

Agree. Was a real kick to the head. If you've ever read Bram Stoker's "The Jewel of Seven Stars," it's the same feeling at the end. Just, "we're done here, please clean up and close the book when you're done."

5) I am hopelessly in love with Maura Tierney…..er, Helen….
and 3)….yeah, that fits!

PS: I really thought Helen was going to confess to Vic about the manslaughter, and was surprised when she let him out the door. He was begging to know and for so many reasons she kept it to herself, again and still.

Not sure about Helen being awful. At least not intrinsically. All that stress from holding that lie about who was driving - the guilt watching what it did to Noah - scary. However, the "I forgive you" was a kick in the head! Disclosure: I don't feel qualified to comment on Helen without my predisposition to Maura

So we find out, if Mama Gunther is to be believed, that her boy is still married, and has been for 16 years? Is Noah the untrustworthy narrator of his own prison drama attributing too much to Gunther? Wondering if we're going to discover he's just a regular old prison guard, maybe verbally abusive and frustrated as

See "Pacey," Dawson's Creek. He was even good just starting out. Thankless role as starry eyed second fiddle.

To paraphrase Orange 45, "Who knew murder could be so complicated?"

I don't remember, was he shoved into traffic, or was Alison just trying to push him away?

Sex is messy. Deal with it.

I like tortured Helen, and Maura Tierney is probably thrilled to play to versions of her, which is why I'd surmise the writers are spending so much deserved time writing for the better actress of the series. Also, who can say what keeping a secret, buried deeply, from everyone, would do to you? Parallel to Noah's

In the scene just before, you see the photo of the same boy in Noah's dad's house. I assumed then it was young Noah, and recognized him in the lake. I usually don't notice such things.

I'm just catching up on the show, but I love your #2 and #4. #2 occurred to me earlier, but #4 is really intriguing.

I noted in an earlier episode - Helen always has an orgasm during sex. With or without Noah's "magic penis."

I'm glad the comments are here, and never really enjoyed the reviewer in past seasons, on this or other shows.

Aronofsky copies lots of people, and then feeds off of their accolades. I'm convinced he does not like human beings.

I have never seen the appeal of Alison on this show. Can't figure out why he left Helen, other than Noah likes to "stir the pot" as an "artist"

Dull episode full of …..meaningful……looks and…….conversations…….. And I prefere character work to walker killings. Entire episode I was hoping Sasha would become her character from "New Girl" and prank the shit out of everyone. Or maybe even Neegan, would look up, see her rifle from the window, and then pull off
