I think there is a lot to some of these posts about the portrayal of women. Our relationships with our mothers and sisters inevitably colors our perception of women in general (I, for one, thought ALL women were like my sisters: clean, kind, angelic souls, until I went to college). So the skewed portrayal of women

I've been thinking about dual time lines and a possible time loop…. Have you seen the UK show Black Mirror? They only made 7, and 4 or 5 are really really good (White Bear and the Christmas Special, especially).
The Christmas Special episode stars Jon Hamm as some kind of investigator who goes into a

"'We still don't know what landed him in a year of court-ordered therapy"
Yes we do. It's on the USA website, and some kind, astute fan pasted a link to the backstory above. It was a financial hack. He got off easy, as the feds don't look too kindly on hackers. They also aren't usually permitted to use computers for a

Yeah, "PC-ness" was the wrong term. It's not PC to respect a person's gender identity. It's just what you do.

I WAS IN ON IT THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!
AND THEN I SAT IN A ROOM WITH THE OTHER TOP 1% OF THE TOP 1%

I have a renewed love for Gillian Anderson. Did you think Dolarhyde when Elliot punched the mirror?

I'd stop short of calling it "sexism" but the show doesn't paint a single female character in a very positive light. But it doesn't do so for the males either. They're all flawed, just like you and me.

It was pretty funny when the vet asked Elliot if Flipper was chipped.

Seriously. Words containing digits make me want to get a fork and go Joanna Wellick on my eyeballs

I <3 the Gone Girl moment with the fork.

Hmmm…. And the CD-R's are like Memento's tattoos. But I think the memory lapses are suppression, not intentional forgetting. It's a mental defense mechanism

My stance is that that WAS Elliot talking to Tyrell, the show just depicted him as MR, like it depicts all E Corp logos as Evil Corp, even though that's all in Elliot's head. In an early episode, he told us he identifies the company with evil to the extent that he involuntarily does that.
HOWEVER, you make good points.

Seems like cutting corners to me. Each actor is naturally fluent in their respective native tongue, and they sound similar enough that the show just rolled with it. It's not as natural when an actor has to learn a new language for a part.

Kentuckians can't talk to anyone other than other Kentuckians.

Actually he wrote "Talking Heds" I'm curious if he does that on purpose or if he really thinks Tool has an album called Anemia

Questions for the community:
There has been a lot of deconstruction of characters' names in comments for previous episodes. Any insight from the 99% of y'all smarter than me on "Gideon Goddard?" Gideon's Trumpet (the book we all read in 7th grade about the Supreme Court case that guaranteed criminal defendants the

Elliot is court mandated (well, was) to see Krista because he got busted a year prior doing a financial hack. This is his official backstory, provided by USA. http://www.usanetwork.com/m…
