My response to that statement and this article in general;

Night Of The Hunter has not aged well outside of Robert Mitchem's performance. I'd like see Ana Lily Amanirpour or someone else who could keep it solidly horror but built on atmosphere.

This probably exists and is played a by a group who also does sublime and 311 covers and hasn't been employed in several years.

It's hyperbole but I'd stand by the idea the live stuff is very overrated and that there's a virtue in brevity. Also I'll stand by the idea mildly trolling people who take their favorite bands way too seriously is fun.

Context is important for enjoying art. If you listen to most songs enough times they lose their impact, same basic principle applies for who you experience that art with. From there the absurd and childish stuff is just kind of fun.
