That sequence was an absolute mess. I was so confused that I replayed it twice before I realized that what Beth did was essentially a continuity error and that Dawn's shot had followed an impossible trajectory.

The music isn't by Hans Zimmer. It's a track by Dario Marianelli called "Evey Reborn" that was originally used in V for Vendetta.

I don't think it was ambiguous on the show, but perhaps this reaction is a symptom of miracle recoveries being regularly abused elsewhere? Plot-wise, Doug's death would seem to place suspicion on Gavin (with Doug disappearing right after their meet) and further complicate the situation between Gavin and the FBI guy

The funnier thing about the dining room threesome was everyone (including the show) forgetting that there were cameras there and 3-4 agents watching from a command post downstairs.

I thought he was just going to back the Crown Vic up a bit, take a nice run, and then use the zombies as a meat bridge.

…and then things begin to get weird.
