when i think about the time and bandwidth i've devoted to dissecting this song on the internet and with friends… sheesh.

other than jazz and classical music, i'd have to say: poetry.  poetry, shmoetry.

been making my way through 'slings and arrows' this week and enjoying the way the intro changes to reflect the play being performed that season as well as some of the plotting of each season.  season two seems the best, not only talking about the production of 'macbeth' but also clevely playing with the way the cast

i grew up on a steady diet of british invasion/sixties rock, seventies am gold, and eighties pop.  i can't see anything wrong with doing the same by my kids.  but my abiding hatred of the doors, indifference to steely dan, and non-interest in the allman brothers might cause some trouble with this plan, since i think

i thought i heard a deafening, collective "mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…" earlier today.

go for the ween trifecta: "spinal meningitis got me down"!

if it's truly great
it doesn't matter. a great film/book/tv show is great weather the ending is revealed before you reach it. if a spoiler really does completely ruin it then it wasn't that great to begin with. for example, while browsing through an article about the sixth harry potter books i stumbled onto a bit

our summer vacation road trips were soundtracked by my dad and generally featured the following artists:
steely dan
madonna
the allman brothers
u2
bonnie raitt
and during a brief country phase: allan jackson, garth brooks, reba mcentire, and dwight yoakam
