I have to agree with Sean O'Neal on "Before Sunrise" as a relationship breaker. I saw it on a date with my then girlfriend soon after it was first released. By the end of the movie I knew my relationship was going nowhere and would it end soon. And it did.

I was just thinking about him yesterday as I was replacing the battery in my smoke alarm and wondering if the 'new' battery I was putting in the alarm would work. Those who have seen "Do the Right Thing" will know what I'm talking about. I think.

Oh, I read it…and most of the others. He was an eclectic, but incredibly specific, writer focusing on very narrow areas. I loved that, however. I was such a fan, I made my parents, on a trip to the US, track down a copy of "Box Socials" back in the 1990s.
