If Thanksgiving counts as "holiday memories", my brother and I pre-ordered "Ocarina of Time" and drove to Electronics Boutique to pick it up during Thanksgiving break in 1998. Unfortunately, they messed up the pre-order count and we didn't end up getting it for another week (when school started back up, of course).

It's a toss-up between two SNES Squaresoft classics, "Final Fantasy III" (1994) and "Chrono Trigger" (1995), which my brother and I got for Christmas each of those years.
