I can't believe that of Rayna, Scarlett, Deacon, and Gunnar, Gunnar is the one that Todd has a problem with.

Yeah, that 'explanation' only makes things worse.

Really?  I hope he's better on stage than he is here.  His whole approach to the role so far has been (a) acquire cartoonishly broad Noo Yawk accent and (b) use it to deliver all dialogue, from ordering coffee to yelling at subordinates, in extremely loud bellow.

I think it's too bad that everyone is focusing on how ridiculous that hat is, because it's making them miss out on how ridiculous it also is that Timoney wears her mom's London Fog raincoat and a scarf from the 1972 East German House of Dour Personal Accoutrements collection.

I gotta admit, I'm a little stymied by all this DVDs-are-dead talk too.  Streaming is great as long as you live somewhere with a robust wireless link and/or don't mind constant drop-outs and/or don't mind watching movies on a tiny screen and/or don't mind having access to only about 1/20th of what's available on DVD

You're not trying hard enough.

That's the original "Hold Your Horse Is" configuration of Hella, and it's pretty damn close to that sound, too.  Which, if you are like me and think their first album is their best, means this is the best thing they've done in ages.  Goddamn I love Hella.

Anyone who really likes Bill Murray should be praying he doesn't get within a hundred miles of this stink bomb.

She writes and produces, but very rarely appears in sketches.

Even Cook doesn't do anything to specifically screw up the plan — his biggest error was made a decade before by marrying Marie Windsor.  She's such a hateful mug of poison she'd probably have found some way to screw things up even if she hadn't tipped off her incompetent pretty-boy side action.

I bet it's your ability to count to 10, Fuck The AV Club, plus your tendency to get inexplicably angry about the history of total strangers, that everyone will miss the most.

"So the worst part of the comment section up to this point has been the bored self-satisfaction and insular chumminess of the more active registered posters. Now presumably those same qualities will increase manifold and become suffocating, thus ruining your comment section, which in many cases was more valuable than

Then they came for the people who didn't do tired riffs on the Martin Niemoller quote, and I said nothing because there are no such people.

Come on! Taranino is no Scorese, but he's done some quality work. "Resevoir Dogs" was just a ripoff of "City on Fir", but "Pup Fiction" was a real game-changer, "Jackie Bron" showed he had heart, and "Death Poof" was lots of fun.

A Living Saint
I've been re-watching along with these writeups, and one of the things that's become crystal-clear to me — it was always there, of course, but it's really come to the fore with Noel's comments — is how selfish and dysfunctional Michael is. He's clearly headed down the road to becoming his father:

Yeah, this one's a real keeper, and should be submitted in evidence as one of the handful that prove why the show was so worthwhile.

Yeah, if these were people who had grown, they had grown in distinctly unpleasant directions.
