I'm definitely watching it for character moments and not for Alien Ooze plots.  But I do love watching it, even when I'm like whatever on the plot (the Pulverizer, yawn) there are always plenty of things that keep me entertained (turtles tooling around in the Shellraiser, yay!).   The best thing about the show is it's

Aw, I'm sure the guy laughed.  People who work closely together make fun of each other all the time, don't they?  I'm sure Whedon knows how to foster a non-hostile working environment; he's run so many writers' rooms.
