Who was 'refusing to publish minority viewpoints'?
Who was 'refusing to publish minority viewpoints'?
So you looked at this guy's picture and disregarded all of the fascinating things he had to say about the history of one of the most culturally significant musical genres of the last half century?
I thought the 1st episode was ok, but I was mostly glad it wasn't offensive.
The second episode was meh.
The third episode is hilarious.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with those who didn't necessarily see this as 'harassment'. They were sitting fairly far away, they weren't being loud, they didn't 'catcall' the women, and the scene seemed to be more concerned with 'male bonding', and I thought it was played that way.
Sure thing! I think it's great that this show is willing to try to represent a cultural issue that can foster discussions like this. THIS is how you can talk about race in a productive way.
(I should note that I haven't seen the episode yet, fwiw)
Thanks for this! I know there aren't a lot of hip hop fans among the commentariat, but I appreciate some new (at least for me) stuff to check out.

Wait…so the song is bad because some oldies station plays it all the time?
Nah. They're both great!
It's not so much that it's reviled, but that it often leads to conversations that end up complaining about the reviewer instead of discussing the show, which is arguably what the comments sections are mostly for.
I wish I could like this comment a few more times, and then cut and paste it whenever someone makes this argument.
I remember watching the season finale and thinking 'Yep, this is the story I was invested in, its clearly over, and I should probably walk away before this show makes me retroactively hate it.'
Add 'Fringe' to this!
Yeah, I quit watching after the 5th season, not necessarily because of the awful female characters, but I admit I didn't miss that one bit.
I just hope Hawley doesn't end up being too Bela Talbot..
I won't speak for 'everyone here who is against Max' (it's my sense that there aren't many who are actively dislike him), but I will say that I find him to be a terribly frustrating character because it is difficult to distinguish between 'this is how someone with Asperger's might act' and 'this is a very spoiled…
Season 4 of Friday Night Lights had a fairly memorable storyline about abortion. I don't want to say to much in case folks haven't seen it, but it's just about the only example I can think of, which is really unfortunate.
Three of my favorite things to do:
1)Go to the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art (or Kelvingrove)-they're free and easy to get to and awesome.
2) Walk through Kelvingrove park and people watch.
3) Go to King Tuts WaWa Hut and catch a live band.
Kind of, but I liked the synchronicity of the visuals in Alice more than the example here.
