Stuff that is annoying you today Thread

The entire montage of WALL-E carting a catanoic EVE around trying to interact with her just leaves me a mess. But the scene you mention also gets me every time.

I don't know if this will embarrass me in front of people, but I have never made it through Tokyo Story without crying. The end just leaves me a mess. I've never shown it for a class for that reason, though, so I guess that counts as trying to avoid being embarrassed.

I'm not a big fan of comedies, but wow do I absolutely love this film. I've seen it probably a dozen times and I still love it.

This is great-a good mix of stuff I really like and some stuff I haven't heard!

Actually, we seem to have pretty similar tastes! I have a lot of the albums on your list, but I'm going to use what you have hear to pull some stuff out that I haven't heard in a long time. It's a fun thing to do (listening to stuff you haven't listened to in a while), and it will probably be even more fun on the road.

Summer music/road trip thread!
Apologies if this is too closely related to the 'shuffle' thread-

The diving sequences in this were riveting. I didn't move once during either one of the split screen dive, except to gasp for breath myself, instinctively. This was really a fascinating thing to watch. I did wish there was more of Audrey herself, though-I felt like so many others were speaking for her-even the footage

I was really struggling to understand why anyone would do this. I can understand mountain climbing, which is mainly about endurance but is also about a specific relationship with nature, and about an obsession with the journey (reading 'Into Thin Air' was a great insight into this). I can get rock climbing and

While I really thought this well done, I agree-it was definitely among the better '30 for 30s'. I'm actually not sure why this was chosen to be in the Nine for IX series instead of the 30 for 30. It might just be me, but I had a better sense of what this series might be thematically with the first 3 documentaries, and

Because I'm coming into this season not having seen previous episodes, my reading of plenty of things is not on particularly firm ground, but I really had no idea what Angelo's reason's were for wanting Abby 'back' (did he ever have her in the first place?). Of all the storylines this season this is the one that has

Not much to comment on this week-I agree with you! I'm really liking what Tveit is bringing to the role. On paper, Mike would be a pretty boring character, so the nice emotional range is really working for me.

There were only a few classes both editorial and broadcast majors had to take, and we took every opportunity to distance ourselves from the 'broadcast tools', who were mostly delusional, vapid armchair quarterbacks and girls trying to get their 'Mrs.' degrees.

In having a somewhat too 'on the nose' central conflict, I think this entry may be quite similar to the opening documentary on Venus Williams. I'll admit that for intensely personal reasons (Venus was one of my idols as a young black girl from the 'hood who played tennis) I was less bothered by it there.

In the case of Lisa Olson, who had one of the most prominent cases of harassment, the conclusion that she had been 'degraded and humiliated' came from a report that was requested by the acting NFL commissioner, A MAN, not a feminist judge.

I'm pretty sure just about every time I've burned my mouth eating pizza it was terrible pizza. What's up with that??

I'm a buddhist but not a vegetarian (although I was for many years). It trips people up sometimes.

I'll add Ta-Nehisi Coates from the Atlantic to this list. Way back in college and for a few years post-undergrad I used to keep close track, but now not so much any more.

Tennis interviews are largely restricted to post-match interviews right on the court. Often the crowd hears the interview as the reporter is conducting it. On occasion there are other post-match interviews, but these are done in studio 99% of the time. The locker room, for both men and women, is a very sacred, private
