Absolutely true, but I'm angry at her for a couple reasons:

I was thinking this too-so say we all!!

I would say my groan of wtf/despair for this and for Dewey were about equal. Not sure what that says about me.

Cool, thanks for the extra info. I'd written to a TV critic about the screener situation that was discussed here last week and he mentioned it in his reply. I hope it didn't seem like I was implying that they were trying to jump ship-I completely agree that it makes sense to line something else up in case Southland

I heard that both Shawn Hatosy and Ben McKenzie have already signed to shoot pilots elsewhere. Not a good sign :(

That phone call just made me hate Tammy even more.

There's something thrilling about the way this show uses an objective camera to convey the sense of chaos and immediacy that our characters face every week, and I agree that this was an incredibly effective decision (both sonically and aesthetically). I was sitting on my couch squinting into that dark tunnel like an

The camera movement at the beginning of the sequence with Sammy's infamous takedown was just wonderful to see. There were a couple of really interesting, effective framing devices for Lydia as well. This episode looked lovely and had some really good directorial decisions. Bravo Regina! (and hats off to Dana Gonzales!)

Stray observations:

You know, I had a 'stop whining, everyone knows that this is what Narrator does' post all ready to go, but then I thought I'd suggest protesting against something in What's on (TV) Tonight that is far, far worse. (and for the record, I like the DVD release thing he does, and at least the Soderburgh retrospective has

Let's see- preoccupation with 'loyalty'? Check.
Obsession with Boyd, who can do no wrong? Check.
Anger at the show for not doing exactly what he/she wants it to do? Check.
Comparisons to SOA? Check.

I cringe at that word too, but I agree with Jimmy-there's a difference between a slut and a sex worker. I'm not saying that it wasn't her choice to do drugs and get into the sex trade, but I don't necessarily think Ellen May has anything to be ashamed of; it seems to me that the universe dealt her a pretty bad hand in

I'm pretty sure I took about 3 breaths during the entire time this episode was on.

Yeah, it wasn't the legit criticism or even the discussion-I wasn't necessarily hoping folks would fawn over it simply because it 'seemed' worthwhile, it was just that the negativism was like a cancer in the comments, and after a while it became a complaint corner rather than a place for discussion. I guess it was so

I thought it was just me! I remember watching the first few episodes of this show anticipating some kind of enthusiasm in the comments, but it was shockingly and overwhelmingly negative, and iirc it was like that for nearly every episode. I still don't understand it.

She also apparently doesn't do 'real hip-hop' either:

I was amused but also a little confused when my son just starting moving randomly to things (he prefers classical music, hilariously, but will also boogie to old R&B stuff-and the Outkast song was a bit hit). I found this and had a good giggle about it:

I've looked through this article a couple of times now and I can't even figure out why idiots posted about hating kids, or about how the author thinks his kid is the most unique/special/amazing thing in the world. If you're so sensitive to anyone saying ANYTHING about kids or parenting at all, maybe you should just do

Except that most of the world outside the United States doesn't watch MLS, and even in places like Australia, I'm pretty sure soccer loses out to Aussie Rules and Rugby.  I'm a HUGE football (soccer) fan and I live in the US. I tried to watch MLS and all I ended up doing was screaming at my television and not in a

Just echoing the 'like' here. Even if I don't always have something to say about this show I always read the comments, and I like seeing the same names posting every week. In terms of popularity, I know I've definitely tuned in to some shows I wouldn't have based on the popularity of the reviews and comments at AVC.
