I really wanted to reach through my television to punch Sherman.
I really wanted to reach through my television to punch Sherman.
Now that I think about it, that was awfully convenient, but since everything those two imbeciles did was in a similar shade of stupid, I got a good giggle out of imagining the conversation that brought their plan about.
Oof, that poor woman. Her laying there gasping for air made me really angry at Tom Walker.
What a great heads up! I've seen the vast majority of the stuff listed here, but there are plenty of things that I'd like to re-watch, and of course there are films I haven't seen from directors I really like too (as if I don't have enough films I have to watch this weekend as it is!).
I'm not an expert on Kurosawa (or Japanese cinema for that matter), but I do show Rashomon in film classes. It's not particularly long, and it's accessible if for no other reason than its famous structure. My favorite is probably Seven Samurai, however.
:(
It's not so much that I refuse, it's that other folks are way better at it. And to be honest I don't even know the original reference. These just make me giggle.
Someone make one of those all-caps 'Last Resort' style posts about this-I kinda miss reading about that show.
Yeah, I'm trying to be vague since I'm hoping new watchers will go back and have a look at previous seasons, but of all the instances where this show had me literally shaking, this is the one that stays with me. Strangely enough, I seem to have a similar mild PTSD, because even though I roughly remember the events,…
Pretty much this ^^^
To be fair, all of the characters have baggage-I can think of terribly traumatic things that have happened on screen to Sammy, Ben, Coop, and Lydia. And what I love about the characterization on this show is that each of these situations (Coop on the rooftop, Lydia running toward gunfire, Sammy suddenly surrounded by…
I'm glad to know there are new watchers out there-this is a great show that always seems to fly under the radar.
I thought she was fantastic. I didn't really have much trouble with the resolution of her storyline, but it would have been nice to see it play out a bit more this season, maybe not as a main storyline (as much as Southland has a main trajectory, which is to say not much), but just as a kind of lingering tension.
I love the constant mayhem/threat of mayhem and the general pacing of this show soo much. It's really not like anything else I watch and I'm always grateful for that.
While I was watching the episode I was a little confused about how Raylan & Shelby suddenly turned up to that house as well (and I was distracted by relief that I wasn't going to watch a good ol' fashioned cauterizin'). I missed the line Noel mentions in his stray observations about a rental agreement and a Detroit…
I dunno-I actually feel as though I have a pretty good sense of Colt. Even with the random addict m.o., there is a consistency there that I've come to recognize (maybe I know too many vets and it's just me, though). I especially liked Tim's friend's immediate recognition of Colt as someone who is very obviously at war…
After reading about the low ratings, I looked at a few different comments boards to see if I could tease out why people might've tuned out. It could be as a simple as people who want escapist entertainment, but I was certainly curious. I'm always suspicious of making the 'You don't like it because you can't/don't…
Thanks for being brave enough to risk being flamed for feeling this way (After reading all the enthusiasm here, I was just going to quietly move along). I completely agree, and I don't think there's anything wrong with having a hard time feeling anything at all for the main characters thus far. I watched all of the…
I feel weirdly the same!
I cheered when Jack said Karen's phone went to voice mail. It's not that I don't like Katherine McPhee's voice, I think it's lovely for pop songs, but for Broadway tunes, it's just not going to cut it-especially when her competition is Megan Hilty.
I assumed it would be yellow…
