Only, and I mean only, when I have it at high end places by awesome sushi chefs. Everywhere else, it's had the texture of peanut butter with sand particles in it.

That was perfect.

Because, despite it not needing to have any sort of cooking equipment, it was the only store in an entire shopping center affected by the fire. I was implying that it might not have been an accident.

I asked if they were an egg-eating vegetarian. Salmon roe is eggs. If you're ok with eating chicken eggs, I see no reason you'd draw a line at fish eggs.

There used to be a sushi/poke place nearby here called "Samurai Burrito".

That was apparently the bigger part of the claim. The non-Japanese were just peeling off the seaweed, so they put the rice on the outside. This is now the way pretty much every roll you know as a "roll" is made. Even this part of Tojo's claim is contested, as Mashita has several people attest to his doing so back in

Another thing about the "California roll" that you guys in other parts of the country seem to have based on those images up top. You either have lazier or more health conscious sushi chefs in your sushi establishments.

He literally can't have invented the California roll. His original version of the roll doesn't have avocado. Tojo's claim is that he invented the uramaki (inside-out) roll and then called it the California roll, but it's not the roll that you associate with being a California roll.

Spoiler alert: It's not.

If you're an egg eating vegetarian, then you can get the tamago, which is just a rolled omelette, soy, and a bit of sugar generally.

Can you handle mildly spicy food? Spicy tuna rolls should be next on your list. It's just chopped up tuna and chili oil for the most part. But you won't have to worry about having the feel and texture of raw fish in your mouth, because it's all finely chopped.

Stolen from a previous AV Club commentator:

This isn't the Jean Claude Van Johnson announcement I've been waiting for.

I dunno. I liked Batmanuel as good as Die Fledermaus.

:(

I met her once. She was at a DVD shop near my house, autographing her newest book. She seemed cool.

They'll be gone…ia.
